There are a few ways to enter the Kevlar codes so I will provide you with them all plus I will publish the instructions for entering the DBMG 2 codes. If you do use the Kevlar/Secanix codes then pick the instructions that are easiest for you to understand.
| Go to MENU, then press 3, then press 1 (should read "CHANGE PARENTAL CODE") If it doesn't just select "Enter New Parental Code" and put in "0000" then you should see "Change Parental Code" Enter 1st code select, select, select Enter 2nd code select Enter 3rd code select, select, select Enter 4th code select Enter 5th code select, select, select Enter 6th code select, exit If your channels go blank: Simply Switch your receiver off and on a few times to clear card. If you get “Please Insert Card”: Your card has been zapped and needs reprogramming. If your Kevlar card displays ”You have not subscribed to this channel” and the channels lock up, remove the Kevlar card, put in the original card then switch your receiver off at the mains and on again. Leave your original card in for 30 minutes then take it out and put the Kevlar card back in. |
| Important: Whenever you are entering a number with Kevlar, you are actually writing codes to the card. Get it wrong and you run the risk of writing the wrong data to the wrong area of memory on the card. This can render the card useless and will need reprogramming. The
Kevlar/Secanix code is a lot less tolerant to mistaken number entries. It appears that some people are having trouble entering the Kevlar codes, so I have simplified it as much as I can below. Firstly, ignore anything that comes up on screen. I say this because this method is different to DBMG2 and people are mixing the two techniques together, thus killing the card. Sometimes you will have to press SELECT only once to bring it to the point where you are entering the next set of numbers, sometimes you will need to press it three times, however if you follow what is below to the letter, you should have no problems. You will also notice that you can see some sets of numbers being entered and not others; this is correct. Go to MENU, then press 3, then press 1 ( NOTE: If you are using a Kevlar hex after version 1.4 (say, pre-September) and you have already entered a personal Parental code (which we don't recommend) you will have to enter that first, then press SELECT. Now enter “0000” and press select, select, select. Now start entering the monthly codes. If you have NOT entered a personal Parental Code then enter “9999” and press SELECT. Now enter “0000” press SELECT, SELECT, SELECT, and then start entering the monthly codes.) Method 1. Enter 1st code select, select, select 2. Enter 2nd code select 3. Enter 3rd code select, select, select 4. Enter 4th code select 5. Enter 5th code select, select, select 6. Enter 6th code select, exit If your channels go blank: Simply Switch your receiver off and on a few times to clear card. |
| N.B. When you enter a number with Kevlar you are writing the codes direct to the card. If you get them wrong you may render the card useless so please take the time to enter them. If you are using any version from 1.61 and above you must first : PRESS Menu Number 3 PRESS No 1 "Change parental code" Enter 0000 Press Select "Please remember your code" Press Select Now this is for all versions. If you did not do the above 0000 then Press Menu and 3. Press 1 Enter 1st set of 4 digits press Select Select Press 1 Enter 2nd set of 4 digits press Select Enter 3rd set of 4 digits press Select Select Continue until all 6 sets of 4 digits are in. After you enter the last set press Select then EXIT. You now have all codes entered and all channels unblocked. |
Instructions for updating DBMG 2 card with remote control.
| First go to BBC1. Turn the box off by pressing the "standby" button. Now turn it back on by pressing "standby" again. Now select MENU and then 3 for PARENTAL LOCK. NB. If the number 1 option now says 'ENTER NEW PARENTAL CODE' then you need to start at the beginning again, making sure you are on BBC1 BEFORE turning the box to "standby" The number 1 option should read 'change parental code'. Press 1 to select it. Enter the first 4 digit code and press select. The reply should be 'invalid parental code'. This is correct, press select again. Enter the next 4 digit code and again press select twice. Continue until you have entered all 8 codes. After the last code has been entered press select only once and then the EXIT button. Now change the channels until you get to Sky Sports 1. The card should have activated by now. If it hasn't activated, just keep changing channels between Sky Sports 1,2 and 3. It can take a few minutes. If you have nothing after 5 minutes, you have entered the codes incorrectly, therefore re-enter them. |
