Background of Amy O’Brian:

Born: 1688 in what’s now County Cork, Ireland.

Mentors:  Elizabeth Noel, Duncan Macleod.  Was training along side of Richie Ryan to hone her skills.

Weapons of Choice:  Celtic war sword, Tai Chi sword, fighting fan

Known Allies:  Duncan MacLeod, Richie Ryan, Joe Dawson, Jackson Rawles, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez

Known Enemies: Lou Pearlman, Johnny Wright (?)

Amy is reluctant to join in the “Game”, but realizes she has no choice.  At the time of her “First Death”, she was in training to become her village’s new wise woman.  She “died” defending her village from English invaders.  The wise women at the time swore Amy was touched by the Gods when rose from the dead, the rest of the village thought she was Evil itself.  Shortly after, she left and wandered through Ireland until she found Elizabeth Noel (no relation to Tessa), her first Immortal teacher.  Elizabeth taught Amy about was she was and how to deal with life as an Immortal.  Surprisingly, combat came easy for Amy and she has learned several different styles over the centuries.  She came to know Duncan through a mutual friend, the monk Darius.  In the early 1990’s, she moved to Seacouver to be close to Duncan and train with him.  In 1999, she was offered a job on *NSYNC’s security team.  She took it.

Background of Jackson Rawles:

Born: 1968 in Seattle, Washington

Mentor: Joe Dawson.  Trained Jackson while he worked as a barkeep at Joe’s blues bar.

Weapons of Choice:  Fists, but only as self-defense.  He was a street fighter in Seattle before moving to Seacouver.

Known Allies:  Joe Dawson, Duncan Macleod, Amy O’Brian, Dixie Sharp (Watcher contact)

Known Enemies:  None, though he did make a few in his street fighting days.

Jackson grew up on the streets of Seattle, stealing more for necessity than thrill.  He never knew his dad and his mom barely made ends meet.  His street fighting career started after a date with his high school sweetheart.  While taking a shortcut through one of the seedier parts of town, they were attacked by gang members.  That fight landed 3 of the 4 in the hospital and the respect of the gang’s leader.  His mom never asked about the bruises or the money she found her purse every week.  When he turned 21, he got his bartending license and moved to Seacouver to start a new, non-violent life.  Shortly after, he found work at Joe’s, a local blues bar.  One day, he overheard Joe and Duncan talking about the “Game”.  Jackson asked him about it and Joe told him what was going on and started training Jackson with the Society’s approval.  Jackson requested that he be assigned to Amy, due to the fact he knew so much about her already and she didn’t really know him.

Rules of the “Game”:

First Death:  The first time an Immortal “die” dictates how old they look for the rest of their life.  If an Immortal’s first death is at 15, they’ll look 15 till someone takes their head.

Children: Immortals can’t bare children, as they are naturally infertile.  They are free to adopt.

Duels:  Fought one on one, nobody interferes.  “Killing” an Immortal before taking their head is considered dishonorable.

Mortals:  The “Game” and the fact that Immortals exist should never be revealed to mortals.  This rule exists to protect mortals and Immortals alike, though it is often broken.

Holy Ground:  No matter what religion or faith, holy ground is neutral ground.  Fighting is forbidden there.  No Immortal breaks this rule.

The Prize:  The ultimate goal of the Immortals and is awarded to the last one standing.  This is why “There can be only one.”  The Prize is rumored to be spiritual and mental link to all humans and all of the knowledge in the world.

The Watchers:

The Watchers are a secret society that records the lives and actions of Immortals, but never directly interfere.  Watchers and Immortals have been known to become friends (Duncan and Joe), but it is rare.  Immortals are not supposed to know about the Watchers, but a few do.

Watchers are identified by this symbol, either as a pendent or a tattoo on their left wrist:
