Mother Of Clinton Man Dies Thursday,
Mrs. Texie Cooper Evans,83,the mother of Leland Evans of Clinton, died last Thursday night at Lafollette Community Hospital of a heart attack. Mrs. Evans had recurring heart trouble, she had been in the hospital since late October. She was a native of Caryville and was the wife of the late Hugh Evans.She is survived by three other sons, J. O. Evans and Beford Evans both of Caryville, Dewey Evans of Jacksboro, three daughters, Miss. Irene Evans and Mrs. Pearl Wilson, both of Jacksboro, Mrs. Magaline Sharp of Caryville, a brother, Dewey Cooper of Clinton. Four sisters, Mrs. Mossie Violet of Clinton, Mrs. Molly Evans, Mrs. Dora Lasley and Mrs. Ollie Powers, all of Caryville,44 grandchildren,65 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at Lakeview Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Richard Smith and the Rev. Theodore Carroll. Burial was in Woods and Evans Cemetery.
