VOWELL, Bessie (Foust)-

Bessie Vowell
A guiding Star Baptist Church member, Bessie Vowell 82, of the Clear Branch Community, died March 29 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Pleas & Florence Alley Foust. her husband, Thomas Vowell, & two children, Ulys & Iva Jean Vowell, preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Glen & Thomas Vowell of Lake City & Jimmie Vowell of Houston, TX; four daughters, Retha Phillips, Eva Disney & Sarah Carroll, all of Lake City & Mary Cox of
Hammond, IN; two sisters, Minnie Powers & Irene Cox of Lake City; 25 grandchildren; & 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Guiding Star with the Rev Kenneth Bean & the Rev Jack Taylor officiating. Burial was in Foust Cemetery near Lake City. Mable N Vowell Foust, 88, of Medford community, Lake City died Sunday in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. The daughter of Alex and Lizzie Chapman Vowell, she was born Jan 3, 1907, in Anderosn County. Mrs Foust was member of Clinch River Baptist Church & former Sunday school teacher. She also was a former Magnet Mills employee. For the past 11 years, she had devoted her time in the care of her daughter, Iva Dean. Mrs Foust enjoyed
gardening, raising flowers & attending church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edd F Foust in 1983; parents: and brothers, Clyde A Vowell, William M Vowell & Paul E Vowell. Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Aaron "Sonny" & Beth Foust of Lake City; daughter, Iva Dean Hawn of Lake City; grandchildren & spouses, Joetta & David Boone of Snellville, GA, Jim & Treva Phillips & Jacque & Larrell Duggar, all of Lake City, & Jennifer &
Eddie King & Paula & Al Rice, all of Clinton; 11 great-grandchildren;
sisters, Myrtle Beets of Lake City & Daphine Bolton of Knoxville;
sisters-in-law, Dorothy Vowell of Maryville & Joan Vowell of Perth Amboy, NJ; several nieces & nephews; & a host of friends. Funeral service was Tuesday in Clinch River Baptist Church with the Rev Tom Byrge & the Rev Larry Webster officiating. The body was lain in state one hour before services.  VOWELL, Millard F-
Millard F. Vowell, 85, of Clinton Rt. 1, died Tuesday at Anderson County Health Care Center. Mr. Vowell was a member of the Andersonville Clinch- Valley Masonic Lodge No. 383, F&AM. He worked 33 years at Magnet Mills in Clinton and later became owner and manager of the Martin Outdoor Center. He had also been employed by First American Bank in Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Grance D. and Edith Vowell; a brother, R. E. Vowell and a sister, Pearl Lindsay. Survivors include his wife if 63 years, Cora Cox Vowell; daughters, Mrs. Conway (Peggy) Phillips of West Carrollton, Ohio; Mrs. Robert ( Alma) Merideth of Andersonville; Mrs. Eod (Rhonda) Hubbert of Cleveland, Ga.; sons
and daughters-in-law, F. Sherrill and Brenda Vowell of Clinton; A.H.
(Lonnie) and Elaine Vowell of Memphis; 14 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; brothers, Russell G. Vowell of Roswell, Ga.; G. Marvin Vowell of Lake City; Ronald L. Vowell of Oak Ridge; sisters, Mrs. David (Mossie) Cotham of Taylor, Mich.; Mrs. James (Callie) Wilson of Coalfield; several nieces and nephews. A Masonic service and funeral services were held Thursday at Holley Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lee Cate, The Rev. Perry Duncan and the Rev. Glenn Patterson officiating. Patricia Ann Vowell
Patricia Ann Vowell , 14 month old son  of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Vowell died at the home near Lake City Thursday, Oct. 2 at 11:30 p.m. She was survived by her parents and one sister, Ronda. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cumberland Mountain Baptist church with the Rev. John Tackett officiating and burial in the church cemetery. Martin Funeral home had charge.
