Found Dead In Bed At Home Of Son-In-Law
Samuel S. Tadlock,80, was found dead in bed Friday morning at
the home of his son-in-law, Dr. J. M. Cox, Coal Creek. The aged man retired
Thursday night apparently in as good health as usual, but died during the
night of heart disease. Mr. Tadlock's, wife also was found dead in bed at her
home in Lenoir City six years ago, having succumbed to heart disease. Mrs.
Tadlock before her marriage in 1877 was Miss. Catherine Elizabeth Worthington.
Besides his daughter at whose home he resided, Mr. Tadlock is survived by
another daughter, Mrs. C. G. Johnson of Knoxville and a son, T. B. Tadlock of
Knoxville, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were
conducted Sunday at 11 a.m. from the M. E. Church South, in Clinton. Burial
was in Liberty Cemetery near Clinton, where Tadlock was born. (donated by
