Mrs. Mandy Kennedy, 75, died Tuesday at 2:30 at the Oak Ridge Hospital. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Sylvania Phillips of Rosedale, Mrs. Cora West and Mrs. Lanie Seiber , both of Devonia, three sons, Tillman of Spokane, Wash, Harvey of Oliver Springs, Powell of Devonia, six sisters, Mrs. Savannah Byrge and Mrs. Betsy Patterson, both of Petros, Mrs. Sis Seiber of Coalfield, Mrs. Tissie West of Devonia, Mrs. Bell Irish of Petros, Mrs. Mary Byrge of Devonia, three brothers, Oliver Seiber of Petros, Jeff Seiber of Charley's Branch and Ike Seiber of Lafollette, 26 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev, Jacob Chambers officiating. Burial will be in Bunch Cemetery. Cox Funeral Home of Lake City in charge. Olivers Cafe Cook Dies At Care Center
A cook at Reaves Cafe in Oliver Springs for about 15 years, Mrs. Lassie Kennedy, 72, died Sunday morning at Lake City Health Care Center. She was formerly of 408 Kingston Ave., Oliver Springs. Mrs. Kennedy had been ill several years. The New River native was a member of  the Oliver Springs Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. Her husband, Tom Kennedy, died in 1979. She is survived by three daughters, Euvine Justice and Eunivee McClure, both of Oliver Springs and Eunice Phillips of Oak Ridge, son, Jacob Kennedy of North Royalton, Ohio., eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Cilar Hassen of Toledo. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Sharp Funeral in Oliver Springs with Richard Powlus officiating. Burial was in Anderson Memorial Gardens. (donated by Susie Bullock [email protected] )

New River Native Dies At 80.
Tom Kennedy,80,of Kingston Ave. Oliver Springs, died Sunday morning at Knoxville Health Care Center. He had been disabled for several years. He was a retired coal miner and a member of New Pilot Baptist Church. A native of New River area, he was the son of John and Betsy Kennedy. survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lassie Kennedy, a son,Jacob Kennedy of Cleveland three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Eunice) Phillips, Mrs. Sam (Eunive) McClure and Mrs. Denny (Euvine) Justice of Oliver Springs, a half-brother, Lacy Kennedy of Clinton, four half -sisters, Mrs. Homer( Ocie) Wilshire,    Mrs. Delsie Raby and Manda Vowell of Clinton, and Mrs. Mary Ward of Dunkirk, Ind, two half-brothers, Ed Kennedy and Jim Davis of Clinton, eight grandchildren and three great-children.  Funeral services were held Wednesday at Martin chapel in Lake City with the Rev. Death Of Mrs. Eliza Kesterson
Mrs. Eliza J. Kesterson, died at her home Friday night Jan. 30,near Robertsville. She was born Aug. 18,1871, near Knoxville. She had been ill for some time with heart trouble. She was a member of New Hope Church and lived devoted christain and was loved by all who knew her, and will be sadly missed in the community. She leaves to mourn her death, two brothers, J. M. Dunn of Knoxville, John Dunn of Cincinnati, Ohio., one sister, Mrs. Julia Frances of Knoxville, also five children, Sam Kesterson, Mrs. Ethel White and Mrs. Cora Smith of Robertsville, Mrs. Minnie Hudson of Cotuia and Mrs, Nola Seivers of Habeshan, Tenn. and several grandchildren. Lassie Magnolia Webb Patterson Key, 91 of Oliver Springs, died Sunday, Christmas Eve. The daughter of Robert 'Bob' & Ellen Duncan Webb, she was born Aug 24, 1904, in Anderson Co. Mrs Key was affectionally called 'Granny' by friends & family alike, her family said. A life-long Anderson County residence, Mrs Key was a member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church. She was the oldest member of a five generation family. Mrs Key was manager of Norwood
Elementary School Cafeteria and the first person to start a school lunch program in Anderson County. A historian, she quilted and enjoyed crocheting. She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Paterson; husband, Bill Key; son Earnest Fred 'Bill' Patterson; sisters, Ruby Hazel Webb, Vaudie Jewell Rainey, Bonnie Lee Qualls, and Dorothy Grace Meek; brother, Joseph Holloway Webb; grandchildren, Johnny Hugh Patterson and William Marion "Little Bill" Patterson; great-grand children, Paul Gail Moore and Penny Patterson; and son-in-law, Leamon Kennedy. Survivors include sons and a daughter-in-law, Wilburn Ray and Elouise Patterson and Robert Burlson Patterson, all of Oliver Springs; daughter, Joyce Ann Kennedy, with whom she made her home for many years; stepson, Billy Key and wife Alive of Crossville; sister and brother-in-law, Verda and Joe Robbins of Oliver Springs; sister-in-law, Maysel D Webb of Oliver Springs; 14 grandchildren;
29 great-grand children; nine great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and other relatives. Funeral service will be 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sharp Funeral home Chapel with the Rev Bill Bass officiating. Grave side service and burial will be noon Thursday in Frost Bottom Cemetery. Ottie Hatmaker King, 88 of Knoxville died Sunday, March 10, 1996, in her residence. Mrs King was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John T and Lora Bell Lawson Hatmaker and her husband Rev Dotson King. Survivors are a daughter, Dorothy Reeves and her husband, Forrest Reeves, of Mount Juliet; grandchildren, Ralph Martin of Knoxville and Pam
Glandon of Claxton; great-grandchildren, Tanner Harber, Ashley Harber and Adam Glandon of Claxton, sister, Emmar Beets of Lake City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted 8 p.m. Monday, March 11 in Holley Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev Alvie Gouge officiating. Grave side services were conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in McCarty Woodhaven Memory Gardens, Claxton. Family received friends 7-8 p.m. Monday, March 11, in Holley Gamble Funeral Home. Note: In the obit it was depicted her sister was Emmar Beets. Emma Carrie
