| Our Little Angel |
| Well, ok. So our new little Angel hasn't arrived quite yet. But hopefully someday we will be able to fill this page with joyful news and pictures! We have been going to the Mayo Infertility Clinic in Rochester for a little over a year. At first, things seemed hopeful. The doctor seemed to think it was an easy fix. He diagosed me with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome/Insulin Resistance and started me on some medication. He prescribed clomid and suggested our next step be Intrauterine (Artificial) Insemination. We were ready to go and went in for an ultrasound on Christmas Eve. We were shocked to hear things did not go as planned and I developed a cyst and was "benched" for a cycle. The doctor decided that injections would be the best bet, so we tried again. We actually responded well and made it to our first IUI in Feb. However, we were surprised again to see that Jason's count post-wash was very low. They upped my dosage of injections and we tried again in May. Again the counts were low. So we began seeing a urologist. We have had such a difficult time with this doctor. Jason was diagnosed with low testosterone and was given some instructions for dealing with this. However, after 3 months, we found out the doctor had completely misunderstood everything we told him. Nothing in the chart was even close to what we told him. So we are heading to urologist #3 in November. We also just found out that McNeilus is changing insurance companies again. We do not yet know if there will be any infertility coverage, although we should find out soon. If not, we are probably out of the running for a while. We plan to do an IUI in Nov and one in Dec if all goes well. Hopefully we will not need to worry about it any later than that. But we are praying for coverage, just in case. Thanks to all of you who have supported us and continue to support us. It means the world to us. |
