Modern times and everything is cool
Go and get a job and don't you be no fool
But when you join them keep them satisfied
Do what they tell you make sure you do it right

Think global act local that's what they said to me
But what they meant was as different as can be
Work like a dog throw away your personality
Take it or leave it there's hundreds to replace me

I've been thinking global in a selfish world
Don't care for yesterday's words they are too old

I'm a dreamer old - fashioned and blue - eyed
Believe in words and act a little shy
I want to remain just the way I am
Look in the mirror and see an honest man

I go on searching for a job that's good for me
Earn a little money have some time for my family
It's not so easy there are millions unemployed
Who are not so corny difficult and old
