Makes 4 servings

1 teaspoon yellow or white cornmeal
1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
8 ounces refrigerated, thawed frozen or ready-made pizza crust dough
1/2 cup tomato sauce (no salt added)
1/2 medium green bell pepper, sliced
1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
4 ounces cooked sweet or hot Italian pork sausage, crumbled
1 1/2 ounces part-skim mozzarella cheese, grated
2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
1 garlic clove, minced

Sprinkle flour onto work surface. Place dough onto floured surface; turn to coat. With rolling pin or fingers, stretch dough into 12" circle; transfer to prepared baking pan, pressing edges against sides of pan to form a rim.
Spread tomato sauce evenly onto prepared dough; top sauce evenly with bell pepper and onion. Sprinkle vegetables evenly with sausage, cheese, basil, black pepper and garlic; bake 20 minutes, until cheese is melted and crust is crispy. Cut into 4 equal pieces and serve at once.
