Weather, Bugs, Etc.

-Summer weather in Michigan, especially northern Michigan, is unpredictable to say the least. Temperatures can range from the fifties to the nineties. We can have sparkling sunny days or thunderous rainstorms, sometimes within hours of each other.
-The mosquitos are at their very worst from late May to early June. The situation will gradually get better as the summer goes on. However, when the bugs are their worst, fishing is at its best.
-Buckeye does not have a phone.
-Television reception is poor. On a good night one can get about three channels (including PBS). Bad nights, one can't get any.

Buckeye is only three miles from the village of Curtis where one can find gas, laundromats, gift shops, groceries, video rentals, restaurants, and churches.

Buckeye is approximately:
-50 miles from the Mackinac Bridge
-160 miles from Traverse City
-280 miles from Grand Rapids
-280 miles from Lansing
-340 miles from Detroit
