Fisch sent me some band news last week, and it looks like there's some great upcoming shows next month in Germany, with Die Lokalmatadore playing with other punk legends like The Business and The Exploited, along with Antiseen. The much anticipated DVD looks to be a summer release, showcasing the bands 20th Anniversary shows from last year.  They have just finished recorded a German verison of "Banned From the Pubs", and brainstorming ideas for some new songs.  Check out the pictures section for some shots of the anniversary show, and also the discography section for the singles release history.

Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of recent updates...per the post on the message board, I just moved and didnt have computer access, but now I finally have something to work with.  I received  an email from Fisch about a couple of months ago, and everything is going well over in Germany.  I'd like to thank JukeBoss Records in Finland for sending me a copy of KIPSI (Klamydia split w/ Lokalmatadore).  We want to thank everyone who has posted in the message board, and also thanks go out to the  independent punk/oi! fanzines that have printed  the interview I conducted with Fisch, and any fanzine is more than welcome to reprint the interview as long as proper credit is given and a few copies of the publication for the band.  Fisch gave me Klamydia's contact info as it relates to me doing their English version website, and I hope to be hearing from Vesku soon.  My interest for obscure European punk has grown since doing this site, and I've discovered other bands from that region with a similar sound (the sing-along, big choir anthemic/oi! style), like Dodelhaie, Ne Luumaet, Pojat, Rasta Knast, Molotow Soda, Muff Potter and many others.  I will be doing Dodelhaie's english version site soon and have sent message's out to the band.   You can reach me at [email protected]

The Die Lokalmatadore anniversary shows went extremly well as they were SOLD OUT for 2/3 shows.  The 3rd in their hometown suffered a hurricane, but the hardcore fans still turned out.  Those fans in attendance were in for a treat as the band played songs they haven't played in 10-15 years.  All three shows were recorded with four cameras for a LIVE DVD the band plans to release soon!!  And finally, for all those who have been asking...Since the band has been so busy, there hasn't been much time for them to complete the interview, but Fisch assures me that as soon as everything calms down again, they can sit down and answer the all the questions I sent out to them.  I have just added a message board to the site, so check it out.   Special thanks to www.skinheadrock.com for posting a link to this site on their front page!

I got another response from Fisch, and he says he is very pleased with the site and that it looks pretty cool.  I just activated the Discography link on the main page, so you guys can see all their previous releases.  There will be pictures of the CD and Singles covers on here shortly as well, so expect that in the near future.  The interview will be done shortly, and should be very informative and fun to read.  Aside from all that, Fisch will also translate some lyrics when he has some time cause right now the guys are very busy practicing for their homecoming shows in Mülheim/dysentery, a town they haven't played in nearly 8 years.  We wish you guys good luck with that and that everything goes well!!

Great news everyone! El Fisch just responded to my email today, and says that they all love the idea of this website...El Fisch will be working with me on this and will be sending me texts to include on the site within the next few days.  This site will improve as the weeks go on and I get more pictures, and hopefully an interview.  One funny thing that Fisch mentioned was about the translation online service I used to translate the news section from his site (which Ive gone ahead and removed until I get a proper translation from the band themselves) "...the funniest thing was the translation of our hometown's name: The town is called Mülheim/Ruhr. Ruhr is the name of the river, that flows through Mülheim, and it's also the name of a disease. So we were pretty pleased to read " Mülheim/dysentery"!  LOL! Sorry about that guys.  Anyways, major thanks go out to Die Lokalmatadore for taking time out to get this thing going and we hope to see this site grow and expand in the near future...stay tuned

Well here is the rough draft of Die Lokalmatadore's American version website...I have contacted the band members asking for permission to keep this site up with thier full blessing and participation.  Many of us have loved Lokalmatadore's music, but very few of us understand the lyrics and have very little knowledge on the band themselves.  It's my goal to conduct a full interview with the band getting their bio's, and entire band history for those of us who cannot understand German. Hopefully they will respond to my email attempts and we can begin to learn all we ever wanted to know about this incredible band.
