Destructor Estelar Clase Imperial

El Nucleo de la Armada Imperial

After the success of the Victory Star Destroyer, Lira Wessex, the daughter of Walex Blissex (who designed the Victory), designed the Imperial-class Star Destroyer. But many senators of the Old Republic fought the Imperial project, saying it was too costly to build even one of the ships. But when President Palpatine declared himself Emperor and overhauled the Navy, the Imperial-class vessel was built. At 1.6 kilometers long, the Imperial Star Destroyer was the largest ship ever made (at that time). The Imperial-class costs more money than all but the biggest of star systems can pay for. But the Empire had plenty of money (of course), so hundreds of the ships were made. Soon the Imperial Star Destroyer was the backbone of the Imperial Starfleet. The Imperial-class really defines the New Order's rule by fear of force. Just the sight of an Imperial-class vessel can convince any planet to surrender to Imperial rule. The Imperial-class Star Destroyer can decimate whole fleets of smaller vessels. Plus, the Imperial Star Destroyer holds hundreds of support ships in its massive hanger bays, including one entire wing (6 squadrons) of TIE fighters.

The Imperial-class Star Destroyer is exactly one mile long (1.6 km). It has firepower capable of destroying all but the most powerful of ships. It holds one wing of TIEs, along with a full stormtrooper division, plus ground assault vehicles, for planetary assaults. Virtually a fortress in space, nothing other than the strange Mon Calamari vessels can even challenge them. No ship in the galaxy, save the Super Star Destroyer, is more powerful than the Imperial Star Destroyer.

The Imperial II-class Star Destroyer is an improved version of the Imperial I. It has an improved hull, and much heavier firepower. Although not as many of these were made as the Imperial I, they are not so rare as the Victory II. The famed Star Destroyer Chimaera was an Imperial II
