Blue Canary was still feeling faint and dizzy but he persevered through the muddy dark forest, scrambling in places and using his scythe to steady himself. He looked back constantly in case the ghostly image of Bobby Englund was somehow stalking him through the forest though he knew it must have just been a trick of the mind, cause by his faintness as he woke. He shook his head, which made him more dizzy and he held on to a tree to balance himself and look forward to where he was heading. In the distance he saw the road which ran past the Dorsia Diner and far beyond that his home, and over to his left the Englund household, he squinted against the dark of the night but he saw quite clearly Sergeant Lang's car parked sloppily outside the Englund's house and as he squinted further he noticed another police car parked outside his own house, presumably belonging to one of the Officer's that had come from Marion town less than a day ago. Blue Canary took a deep breathe and tried to work out where he could go. Although it had only been a trick of his mind when Bobby Englund had told him that he was a suspect in the murders that had gone on in Amitywood in the past week or so, he felt an eerie sensation that it might be the case. He glanced down at his bloody scythe and realised doubly so how this would look to the police. He turned quickly to go back into the woods, to perhaps find an exit further from the police presence gathered near his home when he gasped. Standing motionless staring directly at him and clutching a large knife was Becky Englund.

Blue Canary stumbled back slightly but grasped his scythe even tighter.
"What are you doing Blue?", Becky spoke monotonously.
"I... I'm just trying to get home..." Blue Canary stuttered, glancing back and forth for some relief as Becky edged towards him
"You can't go home. The police suspect you. They will interrogate you and what will you tell them?", Becky looked up angrily at him
"I don't know what's going on... please, I have no part in this"
"But you do, the scythe your holding is a murder weapon and the Police will ask you questions. Questions whose answers will lead them to me and I can't let them find me, not till I have Baxter...", she seemed to squint at the thought of catching Baxter "So, I'm sorry Blue but you're far better off to me dead right now"
"But...", Blue Canary thought hard, thinking of some way to at least stall whatever was going to happen next, which he was sure would be pain "why? Why did you need to kill anyone? Why me? Why your husband?"
"I haven't killed anyone, yet", Becky answered "It has all been Baxter and Bobby's doing so far but I'm afraid I must start if I'm to get that which was promised..."
"What was promised?"
"Power, Money... that which everyone wants.", Becky answered sharply "Baxter is taking control of things and Bobby and I were to get our share for assisting him, by killing the Presidents relatives..."
"What good would that do? The President himself is dead now!"
"That is how he was killed. Baxter needed to kill the President vicariously using his blood-line... the girl wasn't close enough so we had to kill his brother, the Governor"
"You and Bobby?" Blue Canary had ran out of questions
"Enough of your stalling Blue, It's time for your end!"
Becky lunged forward at Blue Canary but Blue Canary had gotten enough breath back to raise his scythe and push her back with the wooden handle. Becky stumbled onto her back as Blue Canary backed away quickly, when he felt a safe distance he turned and began running as quickly as he could through the woods towards the exit. It wasn't long before he could hear the slightly distant running footsteps of Becky Englund giving chase behind him as the branches of the trees around him lashed him.
Before too long he was all but free from the woods, he could see two figures outside the Englund household but was still too distant to be seen by them or see if they were even looking in the right direction. He tried calling out but he was too out of breath and the effort caused him to slip and fall on his stomache and drop his scythe to the side as he landed in the mud. He got up again but barely got a few paces before he was out of breath and collapsed again, so he gave in and rolled on his back and strained to look up to see Becky Englund now walking (albeit briskly) towards him, regaining her breath and still brandishing her knife. She had a large grin of victory on her face.
"You shouldn't have bothered running, you might have had some breath left for some last words"
No sooner were the words out her mouth, than her chest seemingly sliced itself open, showering Blue Canary with blood as she collapsed on top of him, lifeless and limp. Blue Canary felt nausea rising inside him but managed to push her body off him and look up again to see the cloaked silhouette of Thomas Baxter coming towards him, he tried once again to get to his feet but it was no use as before he could even think, Baxter had grasped him by the neck and yanked him to his feet, holding him at arms length.
"Sorry," he spoke through gritted teeth "didn't see you there, or I would have let her finish you off"
He hurled Blue Canary down onto the ground a few feet away and within seconds had him grasped by the neck and was choking him harder still. He stared into his eyes and gave the impression that his eyes were lighted in the night.
"Blue Canary...", he spoke more gently "Well, Blue, I don't know why Becky here was trying to do away with you but I would wager it has something to do with my plans"
Blue Canary tried to deny this or say anything at all but the grip on his neck made it only come out as a splutter of saliva and blood
"There's no use resisting, this is the end for you", Baxter spat
With a smooth motion Baxter slid the top of his cane off to reveal a large smooth blade and held it pointing at Blue Canary, grinning at him. With an even smoother motion, however, Blue Canary reached to where he had concealed Becky's knife when she had fallen on him and lunged it into Baxter's chest, who quickly loosened his grip on him and his blade, as Blue Canary fell to his knees. He looked exasperated at Blue Canary and held both his hands to his chest. A flash of blue light seemed to emanate beneath his hands but he continued fall, another light flashed and Blue Canary began to stand up, and backed away. Whatever Baxter was doing, clearly wasn't working as he collapsed slowly onto the ground just a few feet away from Becky's lifeless body and slowly he faded into death himself. Blue Canary gasped for air for a moment but soon became aware of a vehicle coming towards him, and before he could react was aware of that vehicle stopping right behind him and someone getting out, he turned and squinted against the headlights.
"Put down your weapon Blue...", came the voice of Sergeant Lang, somewhere in the blinding light
Blue Canary looked to his hand where he was still grasping the knife he quickly dropped it to the ground and raised his hands. Sergeant Lang emerged from the light looking a little saddened at Blue Canary but still pointing his gun at him, he put one hand on Blue Canary's shoulder and pushed him against the car and cuffed him.
Without a fight Blue Canary was put in the back of his car and driven down to Amitywood Police Department. Before he had even had time to think about the events that got him there, he was in a cell, laying on a cold hard bed. Trying to sleep but somehow unable to close his eyes, just thinking about what the past 24 hours had done to him...
