This 4th of July Christa and I tried to get on the water early and get in some fishing before the recreational folks showed up. We put in at Riverside and ran up to Kikers and tried some shallow grass. We caught a couple of small largemouths swimming a Jig and I hooked into a 2+ lb head on a Buzzbait that came off at the boat. With the sun coming up and not a cloud in the sky we switched to a slower presentation in deeper water. We ran down towards Stemley Bridge and started working some points in 8-15 ft. of water. I was dragging a Carolina Rig and Christa was workin a jig-head. After the points we were hitting didn't give up anything we tried a couple of roadbeds. The big Spot in the picture came out of 3 ft. of water right on top of the roadbed.......go figure. At around 10:00am the pleasure boaters came out and we decided to call it a day. We had to BB-Q ya know!!
