I hit the water this morning with every intention of being off the water before getting sunburned but the fisherman mentality took over about 10:45am and before I knew it it was too late. I tried a couple of areas with a Fluke but not so much as a blow-up, slurp or even a swirl. I decide to hit a roadbed that was pretty close by and picked up 2, 12 inch spots on a finesse set-up but that was it. Not knowing what the fish were doing I decided to "Hump-It" for a while. I stayed in the Park area and cranked several humps trying to pick off some active fish, but came up empty. The sun was getting high in the sky and the mercury was on the rise so I picked up the Flipping Stick and started hitting piers and boat houses. I hit several piers in the Park, working my way out to the main river. Once out on the marin river I decide to hit some deep water piers with a 1/2 oz. Booyah jig. The first pier yielded a 3+ lb. spot and one dink. I decided to continue working upriver along the same bank flipping a jig. I picked up one more abou 3 lbs. and realized ........."Dang It's HOT"
I looked at my watch and it was 2:00 pm. With 2 good fish and 3 small keepers I decided to call it a day.

Big Fish (3.5 lb spot)
