| I decided to head upriver this morning and check on the largemouth bite. Christa, Hanna and myself put in at Riverside and ran up to an area near Kikers and fished the grass. We caught several small heads on a Fluke and Spinnerbait but nothing over 1.5 lbs. We did however see several big fish feeding on the backside of the grass but could not get their attention. After a couple of hours of chunking and winding we headed back down just below Riverside. We fished one more area sticking with the same routine and finally decide to swim a Jig in that area and wouldn't you know it.....WHAM! A big fat largemouth blasted the Jig and proceeded to show-off by seeing just how far it could spit the jig from the tailwalk position! I caught one more head in the grass there and decided to go looking for a few Spots. We worked a couple of roadbeds and points in 2-12 ft. of water and picked up just two keepers. We weren't going to win any tourneyments today but we had a great time listening to Hanna comment on everything from the weather to why her Ma took the skirt off her spinnerbait. Big Fish 2.0 lb.
