Virginia Beach and the Parking lot
Virginia Beach, the largest city in Virginia, is located in the Southeastern most portion of the state on the Atlantic Coastline. It is independent and is not part of any county. 2.5 million people visit Virginia Beach overnight each year, according to the Daily Press. But every time I go to Virginia Beach, I chase one big problem and that is, there are no enough parking lots around the beach area for visitors to park their car. I spend more than hours to find a place to park my car in, and the place that people are usually park their car in, is way far from the beach. So the visitors has to carry their stuff from where they park their car to the Beach which approximately about four to five miles.
In addition to the dollars spent and jobs maintained within the city, visitors to Virginia Beach create an economic impact throughout the Hampton Roads region. According to Mayor Oberndorf "It is vital that we continue to enhance the oceanfront experience for all to enjoy throughout the seasons." I don't think it is enjoyable to walk four to five mile with caring a lot of stuff to get to oceanfront. Is it enjoyable driving around crowded city for hour just looking for parking lot? What kinds of enjoyment that Mayor is talking about? With so many visitors and the people who live in this city, it is help full to have a parking lot that is close to the beach.
Everything is bigger this year in Virginia Beach, the beach, the boardwalk and the fun! Making an ordinary parking lot would make it more fun. Having appropriate place for visitors to park their car will help the visitors to park their car without having a problem with looking to find a parking lot. The improvements will cost $542,000. If we compare this amount of money and the numbers of visitor?s around the area with Virginia Beach's budget it is appropriate to have such a parking lot.
Virginia beach gained its reputation as a famous vacation resort in the 19th century. There?s so much anyone can do around Virginia Beach. There?s one major reason that millions and millions of vacationers and business folks come to Virginia Beach every year because, this place is fun.
Many of Virginia Beach's parking lots are not friendly to those of us with physical challenges. A lot of Virginia Beach?s parking lots are difficult for people carrying small children or other things such as food, bags. It is easy to see how Virginia Beach is improving itself and gets more people's attention. "By highlighting the city's combination of attractions, mild climate and variety of sporting venues, we've been able to attract the attention and commitment of event planners at a national level." Says Buddy Wheeler, director of sports marketing for Virginia Beach. Therefore, the parking problems need to be solved in order to keep the many visitors coming back.
