Before the concert and the press conference:

Faye went to Malaysia for a charity concert for 2 days!! Faye arrived in the KL airport on Nov 8th and was dressed in a grey blouse and black jacket with brown sunglasses. There was lots of fans and media surrounding her . Then she was taken to her press conference. Faye also received her silver award there for 2nd best selling album in Malaysia that year. Below are some of the pictures of Faye at the press conference. These pictures are from Eric Liew�s homepage, not mine.

The concert: ( Simply�s Faye experience )

Faye was in KL for a 2 night performance and I was very lucky as my mom's friend was involved in the charity drive and hence got me front row tickets. I went for both nights and was one happy person. When Faye came out, everyone in the stadium screamed and it was just great ... Faye seemed a bit nervous at the beginning but after the 3rd song she was very at ease with the audience and talked with them a lot ... At the end of "Dream Person" ,Faye stopped to greet the audience. Then she asked "Where is everybody?" (pointing to the VIP seats) "Is it because of the rain, people stuck in the traffic jams?" With about 70% of the stadium filled, I guess she must have been disappointed.

The second night of her tour however was full house! when Faye came forward to greet the crowd, I went to the front to shake her hand ... there were so many fans rushing to the front and I nearly got crushed .. When I finally got to shake her hand, I held on for a long time and she was laughing and laughing and she couldn't sing her song ... it gave me the impression that she was enjoying herself and was not afraid of her fans ... After sometime I had to let go and she went on to shake others hands ... That was my brief close encounter with Faye.
br> At the end of the second night concert, a boy jumped to the stage from the first floor and ran towards Faye as she was to make her exit ... All the bodyguards tried to prevent the boy from going near Faye but they couldn't.. Faye was very shocked (I think she worry as the boy jumped from 1 floor above but it wasn't very high) and she was also very touched ... she shook hands with the boy, she bowed down (like felt very touched by his gesture) ... Another funny part was when Faye was singing "lau fei fei" there was supposed to be an explosion effect at the end ... on the first night she was shocked by it as she was singing and dancing with the dancers at the front and it went off very loud with some smoke ... On the second night, through out the song she was singing in the front and when the song almost finished i.e the la,la,la part, she ran to the back and bent down with both hands covering her ears and laughing loudly ... she was so cute ...Everyone laughed out loud ...

Also, the dancers threw frisbees to the crowd. That stirred up the crowd as die-hard fans of hers made a grab for that plastic momentous with Faye's name on it.( I think I have this frisbee thing too� The picture of my frisbee is in my Edmonton Concert review. ). Faye said "After singing this song (referring to Darn Yuen Yun Chern Gau /Wishing We Last Forever), I will go backstage and I will not return if you don't ask for an encore". The audience screamed and shouted "ENCORE" and of course Faye came back on stage in a different outfit. The songs sang in the encore part are the same as the HK concert. Faye was in the best moods as the lighting and special effects helped jazz up the show. She even told the audience that her forthcoming album (which is actually Di-Dar though she never mention the title) is due to be out soon. ... Anyway, in all my meetings with Faye, it's very obvious that she's a very simple and friendly person ... once she is at ease she will show her true self .. infact on the second night concert, she didn't put on heavy makeup and her hair was normal not nicely set ... and she seemed to be enjoying herself so much especially when getting close to the fans ... So I never believe the media when they report negative things about Faye's behaviour ...

After the concert:

I guess Faye just lefted Malaysia and release Di-Dar & Impatience (Fau Cho). Faye appeared in the Asian release of the Cocteau Twins album Milk & Kisses! The song is called Serpentskirt. Faye recorded her part in HK and the mixing is done in the UK so Elizabeth and Faye didn't meet each other after all. That�s all folks!!!

70% audience for the first night ,not full house because: Heavy rain,traffic jam and very little promotion. The promotion was not a good one... it was done too late so not many people know about it.

Then Faye said:" why is there so few people, can somebody answer me?" Faye looked like she wasn't that satisfied . After she sang "dreaming" and "dream person" , she asked again "more people now? Sorry, this concert is delayed(initially it was 8.00 but only started at 8.30 p.m. ) because of heavy rain, but audience are few, no choice lah."

Faye:" Mmm.. speak mandarine or cantonese lah?". Faye finally speaks cantonese more often. Angie was so happy that faye speaks a lot in this malaysia concert and she really smiled a lot!!!!!!

Lau Fei Fei, Angel, Promise, ingratiate oneself, lotus in the snow, "dan yuan ren chang jiu", Chesspiece, No Regrets, Fragile woman .

Faye:" huh? don't go abroad? Don't go study?? I won't quit singing, i won't lar" ( audience applause). "wah! what a big response ah! Thank you, thank you!!". When singing "ingratiate oneself", people shouted out" Faye , you're so good in singing!! " Faye:"Want me to speak more? But i can't hear what you all said woh!". "Where is my dream person? In my dream lor!"(haha.. that was funny.. hehe). Then someone shouting for DoU Wei. Faye replies "Cannot bring him here lar "

When Faye shaked her hand with the fans, many didn't want to let Faye's hand go untill Faye couldn't sing "No regrets ". But Faye looked so happy and cheerful. Faye:" Don't pull me down the stage lar!" When Faye sang the last song "fragile woman" Faye said:" i will go in after this song and you must scream "encore", o.k.?" After all screamings and encore part, Faye sang " cold wind"

Cold war, Thousand million words, Exit,I'm willing.

Before Faye sang "I'm willing", Faye said:" this is really my last song for today. Thanks for your support and all your enthusiasm, though it's raining and many are absent.." Faye said blithely. Then she sings "I'm willing". The End!!!!!!
