Japan Concert-- March 99:

The clips shows Faye's first Japan concert. For more detail on the Japan concert, go to my Japan concert page in the world concert section. At the beginning of this clip they said that Faye and Dou wei are having problems in their relationship. Then they show Faye's rehersal before the concert. Faye was in a good mood that day and didn't get mad when the piano guy played the wrong key to "I'm willing". She just smiled at the guy... very cute one. Then they showed Faye talking in Japanese. That part is cute too!

They also showed that Faye's cds are really selling well in Japan. World chart #8! Then they interview Faye. Noriko Sakai went to Faye's concert. She gave Faye a Japanese type of clothing. Faye said that the dress is too big.. hehe. Faye said that her Japanese fans are very well mannered. She thought they would be crazy and scream very loud but they we quite polite. hehe.. Faye said that the differences in Japan concert from her other concert is that "I can sing wrong lyrics and they won't even know".. hehe.. so cute. That's basically all. Focus on Focus ended with "Faye and Dou wei have married 3 years already.. they have overcome lots of barriers in order to be together.. so it might be rumours that the marriage is having problem".

Dec 24 HK concert 1998:

It have been 4 years since Faye have another HK concert! The first night was Dec 24, 1998. The HK coliseum was a full house. Faye sang christmas song for her fans.."Last christmas". When said what Dou Wei gave Faye for a christmas present, Faye said that they don't celebrate Christmas one.. they don't do this in Beijing one.

Faye said that there're lots of directions to remember when performing..Basically there's not much mistakes she made in the concert la.. she remembers where to go usually.. she said that next few nights will be better la when she gets use to it.

They asked Faye why she didn't bring Tong Tong on stage to sing with her.. Faye said "bringing my daughter on stage ah.. hmm.. i feel that there is no need ah".. hehe.. very protective of her daughter! That's basically all that Faye said la.. hehe.. too many reporters around so only a few minutes with focus on focus

Interview about Faye's relationship with media (Oct 1,98):

This is a 10 minutes long interview.. so bare with me.. hehe. The reporters started the interview by saying that Faye have alot of news lately about not cooperating with the media,and that her attitude is not good towards them. Then they broadcasted some clips of the "Good Friends Show" when they are singing the "mahjong song". Faye always gives people the feeling that she is very cool and hard to accept. So how much have she changed after giving birth to a baby? What does it feel like to be a mother? (BORING QUESTION!! I bet you Faye answered this question 10 times already!!)... Faye replied "My feeling is that it is a very NEW thing to me (laughs)...cause it is my first time being a mother." Then the reporter said that Faye's relationship with the media is not that good...How does Faye feel about it? Faye just simply said that she does not suit this entertainment circle.(???.. hehe)

Lots of people said that Faye losted alot of money in her investments, etc... So that's why she is working so hard on her upcoming concert to earn money! Is it true? (Faye heard this question a thousand times already la...stupid question.. hehe). Faye said "Is it wrong if I want to earn money??!!!" ... haha... WAY TO GO FAYE!! hehe... the reporter just laughs with Faye. Now that the economy in HK is very bad... does it affect you Faye? "Of course!! I'm selling my apartment. It doesn't matter if the economy is bad or not... I still have to work... I still have to open my concert." Actually with Faye's sky queen position, she will not lose alot of money. Both of her apartment only losted HK$30 million. So the reporter asked her those boring questions again.. hehe.. she said "lots of news said that you're working really hard to earn money woh.. how do you feel?". Faye replied "wah... what kind of money did I earn ah? You're talking about the concerts right?...wah.. I am earning alot? My last concert was 4 years ago!! This year is my 2nd!! That's called earning alot of money?? Is it wrong that I want to earn money??" (Good answer.. very good indeed.. hehe)... of course the reporter said "No no... it's not wrong".. hehe.

Being a sky queen, Faye is always surrounded by reporters. Even her family is chased by reporters. So they think that is why Faye don't like reporters. Faye just answered ther reporters by saying "Don't always think that I hate the reporters. The truth is that no one likes to be surrounded by reporters everywhere. Now I'm actually used to it but sometimes still mad ga la.. I admit that I am very straight forward sometimes. This may cause the reporters to think that I am rude and I don't agree with it." 2 years ago when Faye was giving birth to her daughter, reporters surrounded the hospital for 24 hours waiting her door. This caused some conflicts with some of Faye's friends that are visiting her. How does Faye feel about it? "...(laughs) how I feel?? I feel very sad. I'm already not in HK and went to Beijing to give birth and they still chase me around. Beijing was very cold that day and the reporters would freeze out there... I really feel sorry for them.(so sweet.. hehe).. I understand that they have to work for their BOSS. They can take pictures, they can wait at the doors... if they can take pictures of me then take pictures of me.. but I will not come out to let them take pictures of me.. I don't like to do that. I can't cooperate with them by telling them everything about me. I want privacy.. I hope they will understand."

Lots of people think that you're hard to accept and think that you're cool ah...someone that is hard to communication with..so how you see this? Faye >> "I don't know how others are like when they are in a bad mood but I think everyone is the same la.. I just can't smile or laugh when I am in a bad mood. I don't want to be like this cause it is hard for me but when you're really really sad or in a very bad mood, you just can't control yourself."..(Totally agree... try to smile when you can't buy Faye's cd yet!!)

Because of this personality... it hard to make friends with her. Most of Faye's close friends have known her for many years such as Na Ying. Na ying is a well known China singer and recently signed with EMI too. "I think that me and Na ying can actually talk about anything loh... I like her personality. She loves talking and sometimes I don't feel like talking so it's good to have her around. I like to see people happy". (YHSIMH.. hehe)

Faye really cares about her friends but for her family, she cares even MORE. Whenever she have time, she will spend that spare time with her family. The reporter asked Faye if Jing Tong listens to her or not. Faye said that Jing Tong is not bad at all... but sometimes very naughty. "So you think she looks like her mother or her father?" Faye thinks that Jing Tong is more like herself. She was the same when she was young... Faye thinks that she was very adorable when she was young (I bet you she is.. she is adorable even at age 29!!... so cute sometimes). "Do you have time to take care of Jing Tong cause you're quite busy ah?" Faye said that these few months she don't have much time with her daughter. "Will you miss her then?" Faye said that since Jing Tong is in HK with her, she will not miss her as much as if Jing Tong was in Beijing instead. Faye at least get to see Jing Tong every morning when she wakes up.

Faye composed a song for her daughter lately. The lyrics also expresses the fears of being a mother and not knowing what to do as a mother. Why did you write a song for Jing Tong? "Maybe I really wanted to record this experience, this feeling of giving birth and experiencing something NEW(being a mother), and because I think she is so cute (YUP!! Just like you Faye.. hehe)... so I wrote the song. It's really hard to write the lyric cause there is too much I want to express. I feel that I still can't express it all no matter how much I write."

Faye now re-entering the entertainment circle after giving birth will have her Asian concert tour. As for her HK concert, Faye said that there will be special/better sound effects in the concert and she will probably ask Dou Wei to play the drums during the concert (OH..can't wait to see the Dec concert.. hehe). "Last time me and Dou Wei also tried to work together. He was invited to my last concert to play the flute. I have lots of songs that are recorded at Beijing and are written by Beijing writers/composers. The songs are also played by the Beijing bands. So I think inviting them to the concert and have them play the songs will be better loh... the feel is better loh."

Conclusion by the reporters>>>Okay after listening to the sky queen's true feelings, will you all have a different attitude toward her now? Well...many people may think that being COOL is hard to accept but it's really hard for an individual to make everyone like him or her la! Everyone have different personalities. Just compose more good song for us la.

Backstage interview at Chi Chat award show (Jan 98):

Faye won both female awards at the Chi Chat award presentation show this year on Jan 1,98. Faye won GOLD "Chi Chat female award" and the "My Most fayevorite female singer" award. Focus on Focus had a short interview with Faye. But they interview Sammi first. The reporter said that Sammi was a BIG WINNER in 1997 and now that Faye is back Sammi only win one award. He asked Sammi if she is unhappy about it. Sammi said "no no.. I am very happy. No matter if the award is 3rd, 2nd or 1st, I will be happy in all the awards I get. So I am not unhappy at all.. in fact I am very happy." (Sorry.. but when I first heard this speech of hers, I wanted to VOMIT.. hehe). Then the reporter interview Faye.

Faye feels that winning awards is just a reward for her. "My goal in singing is not to get awards. I feel that awards are just a reward to me. I just hope that when I create my music, people can support me.(kind of like what she said when she won the Billboard Award at Channel V). This is my goal in singing and is the only reason why I sing.. not because of awards." (Now this is what I call HONESTY.. not like what Miss Cheng said.. hehe)

EMI Press Conference(May 97):

This is the first time Faye is back in HK after leaving the entertainment circle for almost 2 years. Lots of reporters from around the world came to this conference to interview Faye. Here are some of the questions "Focus on Focus" asked Faye:

The reporter told Faye that lots of new singers are copying her images and the way she sings. She asked how Faye feel about it. Faye feels that it is not a BIG DEAL. Lots of new singers will always be attacked with these kinds of rumours. Faye have not heard any of the songs of the singers that copied her. She only saw some of their faces in magazines and she thinks that they don't look like her at all.

The reporter admires how Faye looks so fit after giving birth 4 months ago. she asked if Faye did any type of exercise to keep fit. Faye said that she did not exercise at all... hehe.. (very amazing to me). The reporter said that Faye looks really pretty with the new hair cut and asked her if Faye is going to do anything special with her image in the future. "There is nothing special about my image. I feel that I just wear whatever I feel is comfortable on me. As for today, I got my hair cut because I haven't cut it for a long time so I decide to get a hair cut. In the future, I will wear whatever I feel is comfortable on me and the clothes I like to wear."

The reporters said that lots of magazines reported that Faye's daughter's name in "Dou Yum Tong" and asked Faye if that is true? Faye said that her daughter's name is not by that name but she also don't want to tell the reporters what her daughter's name is. But Faye hints to the reporters and said "my daughter's name have 3 words and starts with Dou.. hehe" (Faye is so cute... that was funny. The way she said that was so funny.)

Faye said that she will do promotion in the future but it will not be alot. She also said that she will not release a cantonese album because she feels that she is more comfortable singing in mandarin. She can compose and write the lyric better in mandarin than in cantonese. Many reporters asked Faye about the price for signing EMI as a company. Faye said that she cannot tell them about the price because the company does not allow her to tell anyone. Faye said that she would love to tell them about the price but she just can't due to the agreement with EMI. The reporters asked Faye if she is satisfied with the price EMI is paying her and Faye said "of course"(hehe).

Interview about the concert:

Faye was interviewed by TVB�s Focus on Focus after she finished her first show. They asked Faye, "Did you think you performed well today" ? Faye said that she thinks she performed "o.k la". Faye was kind of nervous since it is the first day but on the fourth day, Faye was very relaxed and sang really well. Just like CD sound on Christmas day. The reporter said that there was a guy playing the flute when she sang "Promised". They asked her if it is Dou Wei? Faye laughing and said " yes". The reporter asked her if she is happy about him coming to HK and playing the flute for her. Faye said that she is very happy even if he didn�t play the flute. Just as long as he is there with her!! ( So sweet� ho gum dong ah.. hehe ) Then they asked her if Faye will change her image after a few days since the concert is 18 days long!! Faye said that she will probably change her image because she always get new ideas into her head. If she love that new idea, then she will most likely change her image. ( Faye did change her image too!! She change from long hair wig to medium length wig then to a short pink hair.)

Making "Exit" MTV. 1995:

Faye was making her "Exit" MTV this day and Focus on Focus manage to get an interview with our queen. They asked her if she copied Bjork�s image in the concert, album etc�.. Faye replies " Bjork again!!aiya". Faye said that she only copied Bjork�s pineapple hairdo and never copied her again!!! Faye said to the reporter, " I don�t know why it is such a big deal � Lots of people in this world copy from each other all the time. Bjork probably copied someone else too or from magazines". Then they asked her if she will accept anymore movies. Faye said that she have no interest in acting! She thinks that acting does not give her any satisfaction, only music does. They then ask her if she will live in Beijing. Faye said " Of course la" because she have lived there for more than 10 years and it is like a home. She is sure that she will live in Beijing. That�s all folks.
