Fire Department

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF F

Like I mentioned on the front page, I am a Volunteer Fire Fighter out of Station 28 Odenton, Md.
I had to put a pause in my volunteering du to my leaving the states for my next duty station. There a alot people who had a hand in my training, but there are only a few that played the biggest role. First; Sonny Rose, who was my instructor for both Firefighter I and II courses. Also, he's the person who I respected the most out of the entire station. Thanks Sonny for all your help and encouragement. Also, Brian, his son, for supporting all of the training exercises with his god-given gift of Firefighting. The Second, Cheif Charles D. Rogers. This is a man who deffinetly made the saturday night shifts worth while. He constantly had us drilling, keeping our profeciency up to par, making sure we knew our stuff. Always there to help out anyone who needed it. Thanks Cheif. And finally to the rest of the members of Station 28, thanks for everything. Stay safe on every call, especially Meade Villiage and Pioneer City, and hope the best to you all.

Before leaving for overseas duty, I was certified to the FFII level. To obtain this level I have participated and certified in the following courses:
  • Firefighter I (University of MD)
  • Trench Rescue - Level 1 (Anne Arundel County FD)
  • Level 1, Haz-Mat Responder, Operational (Anne Arundel County FD)
  • Hazardous Materials Operations (University of MD)
  • Firefighter II (University of MD)
  • Ice Rescue (Anne Arundel County FD)
  • Emergency Medical Technician (Maryland)

Always remember, check your fire-detectors on a regular basis, keeping the batteries fresh. Have a fire plan set-up for your house-hold, with re-occurent training to keep your family up to par on the best and safest way to exit the house in-case of an emergency.
