PURPOSE

Error analysis Have your students correct either a paragraph or each other Promote students' recognizing correct usage in order to avoid mistakes in the future
Contextualization Introduce concept thru meaningful, real situations Have your students be able to use the concept in the correct context
Modeling Student is exposed to the new concept Acquire a faster and natural understanding
Contrasting Use previous knoledge to introduce new concept Take advantage of previous knowledge
Drilling Use different situations to have your students practice the new concept Promote students assimilation of the pattern
Cueing Inductively intoduce the concept, using signals or other cues Stimulate critical thinking
Brainstorming Encourage students to give their ideas freely Take advantage of students knowledge
Segmenting Devide the concept into the different uses or forms that it might have Facilitate comprehension
Recycling Use previous learnt concepts in a different situation other than when it was taught Reinforce a concept previously acquired
