Vallarta

Emotion from a tired dream
Glints and burrows into
Eyes salted with sleep...
Crashing waves, misty sunrise,
Tepid air inside villas
Creep.

Chilly tiles bare feet meet,
Stumbling in their wakefulness.
Seasoned sighs as chest rises,
Welcoming a lazy day's
Buffet.

Acid vitamins swallow
Down first a tight passage,
Awaiting her awakening.
A giggle escapes.
She wakes!

A still drowsy rump
Plumps down. You slump.
White sheets, lined with stress
Unseen on faces.

Mexico. That port, those sounds
Reminding of acceptable slumber.
Vacation to remember,
Discoveries await.

Ten hour showers,
Mornings stretching 'till afternoon,
Room service, tours, swims, rocky walks,
Hikes to the plastic topped church,
Sojourn.

On a summer's day
Your vision, that bay
My memory repeated
You resting there
Seated.

No English, no Spanish,
No speaking at all.
Simple time, new views
That scent, and that wall

Dripping with greens,
Misty mountains behind.
New foods, new sounds,
New feelings inside.

Little shops, sodas outside,
Foreign foods al fresco.
Rumpled hair, natives stare.
What life in that air!

Neither you nor I
Held a solitary
Care
