i close my eyes and take it all in
dancing in the starkness with my inebriated vigor
rhythms of my unrest increasing to a cantor
a cardiac arrest as i release this cancer
i am jackson pollock
in female form
haunted by her art
its deafening distant hum
sirens increase
mother's gestapo intrudes
igniting my muse
as unwanted Jews
pen moves too slowly
my madness swells
words spill so holy
halos appear rimmed in bells
light leads me home
leads me to safety
muddied fingers slide through
mistaking the lock for the key
cross-legged i'm crumpled
on a shard-laden floor
wooden and cold it mumbled
when i kicked closed the door
unsure of my destination
ambling through a junior bush
searching inside my nation
reminding said fear to shush
a silver sliver and eyes open
the race begins anew
crazy is this connotation
it's been nice knowing you
