Binding Up The Breach
November 2005
“Moreover the light of the
moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be
sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.” Isaiah 30:26
The thoughts that I am
thinking and the words that I’m hearing in my heart from the lover of my soul
are almost too wonderful to comprehend. I don’t know how this will turn out or
if it even makes sense to others that may eventually read what I’m trying to
convey.
Many questions need to be
answered to even approach where my mind and spirit are right now. Such as: what
is the breach? When did it occur? What day was it when the Lord bound up the
breach? When will the reality of the above Scripture dawn upon us? In this life or the life to come? How will this revelation
or inspiration affect the way that I live out my days upon this earth?
Let’s begin an attempt to
answer some of these questions. Webster’s dictionary defines a breach as:
1.infraction or violation of a law, obligation, tie, or standard. 2. A broken,
ruptured, or torn condition or area. 3. A break in accustomed friendly
relations. 4. A temporary gap in continuity. Strong’s simply defines the word
breach as an affliction, breaking, bruise, crashing, destruction, hurt,
interpretation, or vexation.
The breach between God and
man happened a long time ago in a garden that was a paradise when Adam and Eve
partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When that happened, a
veil fell between the soul and spirit of man thus creating the breach.
That breach was bound up
nearly 2000 years ago on a hill called
When Adam and Eve sinned in
the beginning, they sewed fig leaves together to cover their nakedness and
shame to hide themselves from God as His voice came
walking in the cool of the day to talk with them. It was the first time that
they had ever heard God’s voice outside of themselves and it made them afraid.
He was no longer living within them, but was now on the outside of them as the
breach had separated them from God. That breach remained until Jesus paid the
penalty for sin and repaired the breach. When the day of Pentecost was fully
come, man had come full circle in God’s plan of redemption. No longer was God
living on the outside, but had come once again, to dwell in the midst of His
people.
What does this revelation mean
to us today? How should this affect the way we live our lives before the world?
What manner of life should we be projecting to our family, friends, neighbors,
and even our enemies? Should our ministries be one of condemnation, judgmentalism, isolationism, or be one of reconciliation?
At our last father/son
meeting, papa Mark Hanby asked us all to find a
Scripture concerning the word
“For the people shall dwell
in Zion at Jerusalem; thou shalt weep no more; he
will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it,
he will answer thee…Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the
sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days,
in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his
people, and healeth the stroke of their wound….And
they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations, and
thou shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to
dwell in.”
To those of us who are
connected as sons, grandsons, even great grandsons of this ministry, the Lord
wants us to know that this is what He is doing with us, in us, and through us.
The best is yet to come!

Turning the World Upside Down
June 2005
“These that have turned the
world upside down are come hither also.” (Acts 17:6).
This was the accusation that the disbelieving Jews made to the rulers of the city when the Apostles of Jesus came to Thessalonica. Three weeks of intensive preaching and teaching that Christ “must needs have suffered” and was raised again from the dead and that Jesus was indeed the Christ left the Jews filled with envy. No doubt this preaching was accompanied with signs and wonders, as Paul and Silas came, not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but with the demonstration of the Spirit with power.
Preaching
in their synagogue convinced many of the Jews to believe and they did consort
with Paul and Silas. A great multitude of devout Greeks also believed and of the
chief women, not a few believed. The fury with which the disbelieving Jews
resisted the gospel of Christ and the uproar that was caused in the city only
proves that this world is out of order and the only way for it to come into
order is to be turned upside down.
Jesus
was born to a world that was out of order. There were certain feasts every year
in
Now
our world today is still out of order just as much as the first century world
was. We have wars, poverty, diseases, murders, rapes, robberies, broken homes,
and the list goes on and on. Therefore, the only way for our world to come into
order is to be turned upside down. How can that be accomplished? It seems to be a big mystery as to how we can
ever turn our world upside down. I believe that the Lord has given me a key
that will unlock this mystery.
First
of all, we must pray. Not just any kind of prayer, but kingdom prayer. “Lord,
turn our world upside down. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as
it is in Heaven.” Heaven must upend our world. But how can this be? Just like
a baby in its Mother’s womb, it must first be turned upside down before the
birthing process can proceed normally. We came into this world upside down and
in order. In the same fashion, the first century church turned their world
upside down and that by the “Acts of the Apostles”. We must become apostolic in
our everyday living. This isn’t just a one or two days a week ceremony or
ritual that we go through, but this is a lifestyle change. I believe that we
must quit being “religious” and be “in tune” spiritually all the time.
Transparency is the key!
When
the Lord showed all of the above to me, we were in supplication. He said that
the key to turning our world upside down is when we are turned inside out. “…for
there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not
be known.” (Matt. 10:26) What is hidden in us is “Christ, the
hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27)
What
we see when we look at each other externally is our human weaknesses, faults,
sins, transgressions, etc. that the Lord has deposited in the “Sea of His
forgetfulness”. We see the speck of dust that is in our brother’s eye and not
realizing that we have a telephone pole in our own eyes and that pole was taken from the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil. The tree that we are not supposed to partake of. When we are turned
inside out, there can be no hidden agendas, no private or personal goals. We
become as transparent as the gold in the streets of the New Jerusalem. As a
matter of fact, we are the city, New Jerusalem. We are pillars in the temple of
my God, reflectors of God’s glory, manifesting the life and love of our Lord
Jesus.
I’m
talking about over comers and overcoming. And what is the victory that
overcomes (upends) the world, even our faith. (See I
John 5:4)
Consider
what happens when we wear gloves. We put on a pair of gloves to work in our
garden. We pull weeds; we turn the ground, and remove rocks. Our gloves get
soiled. Grass stains abound and it is evident that we have been messing around
in the dirt. That’s what happens in life. We have spots, blemishes, things that
we’re not proud of have occurred. We’ve made bad decisions at times, but when
we repent, then God turns our “gloves” inside out and what has been ugly stains
on the outside, have now become buried in His Sea of Forgetfulness. His
precious blood has cleansed us from every stain.
Now
the inside of the gloves are on the outside and we see no stains, no dirty
hands, and nothing that offends. Our seed, which is Christ, has been hidden on
the inside, but now is manifested on the outside and suddenly the world sees
the resurrected Jesus that has been preached for years and years, but few have
ever seen Him. Now, they can see Him and when they do, He will draw all men
unto Himself. Even the eyes of those who pierced Him will see Him in that day.
That
great and notable day of the Lord will be a day of turning the world upside
down. It can never be accomplished by the works and efforts of mortal men
alone. But those men, who are chosen to be Apostles of the Lamb that are
reserved until the time of the restitution of all things, will stand up as the
corporate man in the earth and be the manifested sons of God that all of
creation is groaning and waiting for.
It
may not take a great number of men and women to turn our world upside down.
Only a few Apostles came to Thessalonica, but their world was upended. Men and
women, full of the Holy Ghost and power, can do more in the kingdom than an
army of men using human effort and wisdom.
Lord,
turn our world upside down!
‘Til time,
Dickey
The Violent Take the Kingdom
April 2005
“And from the days of John
the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth
violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matt. 11:12
I have read this Scripture many
times in my life and have heard nearly every commentary by noted ministers
about these words of Jesus, but I always had a haunting feeling about it. I
never heard an explanation that completely satisfied my heart.
Some would have us believe
that we must have militant faith and demonstrate our beliefs at abortion
clinics, gay rights marches, and courthouse lawns in protest over events or
people that don’t agree with our Christian principles. They say that we should
“violently” take the kingdom by force.
I think abortion is a
terrible thing. Homosexual lifestyles are not in God’s order, and fighting with
unbelievers over the posting of the Ten Commandments in our schools,
courthouses, etc. is wasting precious spiritual energy, in my opinion. Tell me
why do you want to fight over something that doesn’t apply to us today? We are
not under the Law of Moses, but under grace. Did you ever read your new
testament?
Other commentary seems to
lean toward our having so much desire and hunger for God that we pursue this
wooing of the Spirit to the point of neglecting everything else as we “hotly”
pursue the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. I am all for trying to
apprehend that for which we were apprehended but doing this violently doesn’t
sit well with me.
Still others contend that
this is wrestling with principalities and powers, rulers of darkness of this
world, and spiritual wickedness in high or heavenly places. They communicate
the idea that we are spiritual warriors and that our lot is to somehow hold off
the devil until Jesus comes. I believe in prayer.
I was always wondering who
the “violent” were that was taking the kingdom by force. Jesus told us to go
preach the
Study Matthew
In Luke 16:16 it is written
that – “The law and the prophets were until John; since that time the
kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth
into it.” This pressing into the kingdom is at the new birth. Ye
must be born again, Jesus told Nicodemus.
If and when this ever dawns
upon the church, maybe she will awaken from her slumber and quit picketing
abortion clinics, demonstrating at gay rights marches, and filing law suits to
try to get the Ten Commandments posted in every building when they don’t even
apply to us today. Romans and Galatians tell us that we are not under the law,
but under grace. The law came by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus
Christ.
Hello out there church! Anybody home? All we have to do to run the devil off is just
draw nigh to God. If we draw nigh to God, then He will draw nigh to us. We
resist the devil and he will flee from us. I, for one, believe this. That’s why
we should just simply, peacefully, with a loving heart get about our Father’s
business. If I go about it in any way other than love, then I’m just sounding
brass and tinkling cymbals and it profits me nothing.
The kingdoms of this world
are become the kingdoms of our Lord and his Christ. This happened because our
loving Lord Jesus violently took back what the devil had stolen from us in the
beginning. Now that’s something to get excited about!
