Lee/Jackson banquet a success!

by Bob Milner
The 4th annual Lee/

Jackson banquet ended
up better than I could have hoped.
Turnout was good. the silent
auction went very well
and the TRIVIA contest
which for the second
year in a row camp 175
took home the TRIVIA cup.
Congratulations to all
the door prize winners
and a special congrats to
Paul Puebla III who won
our grand door prize of
the engraved Remington pistol.
However the highlight
of the evening of course
had to be the  presence of
General Robert E, Lee (Dick
Crozier). I cannot put
into words how it felt
meeting this man.
I have met many famous
impersonators. But Mr.
Crozier's portrayal of Gen. Lee
is incredible. He not only looks like
him, but just in talking to
him you come away
with the feeling that you
really met General Lee.
In my years of reenactimg
I have seen my share of
Lincoln, Grant, Beauregard
and even Forest impersonators.
Most of which looked great,
but didn't give me
the same feeling.
I personally will
never forget meeting him.

To quote an unknown
Confederate soldier, "I would
charge the gates of hell
for that man!"

I hope our paths will
cross again.

(Dick Crozier's response: "As do I!")
