Pearl Cichlid is a territorial cichlid that can be
aggressive toward its tankmates. The tank for this
fish must have lots of territories such as properly
arranged rocks and some open water space. Smooth
sand are suitable as this fish, which it will filtered
for food. G. brasiliensis can
be messy so powerful filtration is required.

Feeding

Pearl Cichlid is a bottom-feeder that basically feed
by filtering the sand for food. Pearl Cichlid will
greedily take in sinking food such as sinking pellets,
beefhearts and tubifex worms. This fish will also feed
on small feeder fish if given the opportunity.

Compatibility
|
G. brasiliensis can be kept
in large community aquarium with similarly-sized
tankmates, but can be very aggressive specially on
fish of its own kind.
