Botia modesta is a timid fish,
requires lots of hiding places such as rocks and woods.
The fish usually hides beneath rocks and woods or inside
holes and only comes out to feed when the light is out.
This fish is a potent digger, might uproot plants.

Feeding

Botia modesta is
carnivorous and burrows to feed on worms, insects,
larvae and crustaceans. This fish also take prepared
food such as sinking pellets and wafers.
B. modesta eats during the
night so give this fish food just before the light
is off.

Compatibility

Botia modesta is a
schooling fish and loves to go in a small groups. This
fish can be kept in large community tank. However,
they can be a bit hostile when kept in small group.
