Tilapia buttikoferi, also
called Hornet Cichlid, is a large West African cichlid
that must be housed in a large tank. Powerful fitration
is a must for Hornet Cichlid because this fish can be
messy. Plants might be uprooted and eaten. Provide
rocks or wood for shelter.

Feeding
|
The T. buttikoferi is an
omnivorous fish that accepts almost any food given.
They take in cichlid pellets, sticks, worms, feeder
fish and even scrap algae inside the aquarium.

Compatibility
|
T. buttikoferi is very
aggressive fish that ideally kept in alone in large
tank. If Hornet Cichlid will be kept in community,
the tank must be very large and tankmates should be
large enough and able to fend for themselves.
