The Sailfin Pleco is most active at night and requires
hiding place during the day. Multiple-branched wood
will be fine for hiding place. Strong filtration is
required as the fish can become messy with the waste
it can produce. Plants, although may not be eaten, but
might be uprooted by larger specimen.

Feeding
|
The Sailfin Pleco is basically harbivorous and will
eat algae (in the aquarium), spinach, peas and will
also take some prepared food specially that sinks to
the bottom. The Sailfin Pleco is most active searching
for food when the lights out.

Compatibility
|
Sailfin Pleco can be kept in a community tank of
medium to large size community tank. This fish is not
predatory but can be territorial. The fish has adapted
to wide range of water chemistry and can be a good
addition to control algae eater for both Old World
and New World Cichlid Tanks.
