Aquarium Setup
|
Siamese Fighting Fish can be kept in water with less
dissolve oxygen. They breathe air at the water surface
using their labyrinth organs, so surface movement is
not necessary for this fish. Planted tanks (usually
floating plants) are better for the fish as it will
provide hiding and resting-place.

Feeding
|
Siamese Fighting Fish, or Betta, is generally a
carnivorous that feeds on small insects larvae and
worms. In aquaria, they can be fed with prepared food
such as flake, small pellets and freeze-dried worms.

Compatibility
|
Bettas are generally peaceful; but males will fight
with each other if kept together. Females can be kept
together. Other fish with long flowing fins should not
be kept with the male as it might be mistaken as
another male. There should be no fin-nipping fish,
like Tiger Barbs, as it will constantly nip the fins
of the betta.
