Family Album
In the spring of 1952 the Jean and George Hughes Family
numbered six. In March of 1953 my youngest brother was born
and the family totalled five children.
By Christmas 1980, the Jean and George Hughes Family
had grown to five children, and ten grandchildren. Today it
numbers five children, fifteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

Dr. George Elmer and Jennie Viola (Childs) Denny, 1893.
Dr. Denny was the first doctor in Madison, Indiana
Rev. Theodore Alonzo and Katherine (Williamson) Childs family
including Jennie, Lee, and Dr. Alpha Childs. Katherine Williamson
was descended from a group of Dutch who moved from New Amsterdam
(later New York City) to Monmouth County, New Jersey during the
17th century, after the British takeover of New Amsterdam.

on the front porch. When asked why he was crying, he replied, "Frank can
beat up Coulter, Coulter can beat up Kenneth, Kenneth can beat up Allen, Allen
can beat up me, and I don't have anyone to beat up."
Despite the belligerent verbage, they all turned out okay. One was for
many years a lawyer in Seymour, Ind., two were college professors, two were
Indiana State collegiate tennis champions, and one was for 20 years a
senior partner in Arthur Anderson.
