A Long Drink Empties the Flagon, an etching by Richard Cryer of Greenwich, was selected for exhibition in the 40th National Print Biennial Competition at Silvermine Galleries, New Cannan, CT, on February 11 through March 10, 1995.
Richard Solomon of Pace Editions of New York City was juror for the competition with a public reception and awards ceremony from 2 to 4 p.m., February 11.
The etching depicts Clos de Vougeot in Burgundy and was the menu cover at a dinner for La Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin at Jean Louis restaurant in Greenwich, CT.
Cryer combines the old and new techniques to create a unique photographic intaglio. A graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he has studied visual arts at Purchase College, State University of New York. He learned both etching and photographic etching techniques with prominent artists. |
