A Maximum History
Back in 1992, 5 high school girls get together and form a dance/singing group called Super Monkeys. The five girls were Amuro Namie, Ameku Minako (Mina), Takushi Nanako (Nana), Aragaki Hisako, and Makino Anna. Amuro Namie was the lead vocal. They released a single called "Koi no Cute Beat." Anna left the group and they changed their name to Super Monkeys 4, with the release of two more singles, "Dancing Junk" and "Aishite Muscat." Hisako then left the group and they added Nakasone Rino, then changed their name to Amuro Namie with Super Monkeys.
With this new name, they released "Paradise Train" and Rino left....Well by this time, they added on two more girls, Miyauchi Reina (Reina) and Matsuda Risuko (Lina). The new group released a very successful hit "TRY ME", which sold over 750,000 copies. Super Monkeys soon became non existant and simply became Amuro Namie. Amuro Namie released "Taiyo no SEASON" and "Stop the Music" under the Toshiba Emi label.
Amuro Namie herself met producer Komuro Tetsuya and he convinced her to go with him. So she did under the Avex Trax label. Her first song with the new label was "Body Feels Exit." In the mean time, Super Monkeys also joined Avex Trax, produced by Matsuura "max" Masato. They then became the jpop sensation MAX (Musical Active eXperience).
