BLUE BUTTERFLIES

Silky lives in a clearing in the forest. He's a happy, smiling caterìllar who spends his days walking among the leaves, and tickling all the flowers he comes across.

During his walks, he usually meets up with Solomon, one of the wisest caterpillars in the forest.

The last time they saw each other, Silky had wanted to know how to build a house inside a mushroom.

Solomon spent many days thinking about it and told him he had heard other animals in the forest say that the Blue Butterflies were the only ones who knew the secret...

Silky searched for the blue butterflies for a whole week, but he only found Rose, the flamingo and Mumduck and her ducklings.

He asked them if they had seen the blue butterflies, and Mumduck and her ducklings nearly ate him for breakfast. But Rose told him that if he took the path to theirvere, he would find them near Blindy Mole's house.

Silky, jumping for joy, ran away from Mumduck and her hungry ducklings. He was so excited he nearly bumped into Blindy Mole who was just coming out of his hole.

 Silky said good morning to him, and after the usual greetings asked him about the Blue Butterflies..

-         "I don't have very good eyesight," - said Blindy Mole - "but I think you need glasses more than me."

-         "Can't you see them? They're just above your head"

-         "Oh, you're right. Thank you very much Mr. Mole. Have a nice day!" - said Silky politely.

Blindy Mole stayed a while to see what this happy caterpillar was going to do, and he wasn't sorry he did so. It was such a surprise that it was talked about in the Blue Butterfly forest for many years afterwards.

  Silky had climbed onto a mushroom so he could talk to the Blue Butterflies..
