History dictates there will be some hits as well as some misses. Seattle S Dave Brown played 10 seasons for the Seahawks, while Mark Cotney became a secondary staple for the Bucs. WR Mark Carrier posted four productive seasons for the Panthers and Jacksonville bagged a future Super Bowl MVP. Unfortunately, Desmond Howard garnered that honor the following year in a Packers uniform.
Then again, the Panthers drafted a future pro wrestler. The Bucs drafted two Bubbas, Bridges and Broussard, neither of whom made the roster. Many names below played just one season with the team that took them in. The expansion draft process remains an inexact science.
Here is a look back at which players the last five expansion clubs selected when it was their turn on the clock and whether those players stuck with the team. Bold indicates the player made the active roster. A star indicates an eventual starter. The year or years listed are seasons he spent with the expansion team.
