than three yards per carry, as he gained 60 hard-earned yards on the ground.

12/23/98 - Allen will start again
Head coach Dave Wannstedt has said that running back James
Allen will start against Green Bay this Sunday regardless of the Edgar
Bennett's health. Last week Allen filled in for an injured Bennett and ran
for 163 yards against Baltimore.

James Allen: Subbing for the injured Edgar Bennett Allen had
the biggest day by a Bears' running back since Walter Payton, picking
up 163 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.
Curtis Conway: Providing balance to Allen's ground assault, Conway
made five catches for 83 yards, including a sixteen yard score.

Bryan Robinson: The defensive end made just one tackle.
Notes: Quarterback Steve Stenstrom played a strong game, completing 19 of 28 passes for 202 yards, with no interceptions and the touchdown to Conway.
12/18/98 - Bennett and CB Harris doubtful for Sunday
Running back Edgar Bennett is doubtful to play Sunday against
Baltimore because of a bruised left knee. James Allen would start in
his place...Also doubftful is cornerback Walt Harris, suffering from a
knee injury. He will be replaced by Randy Hilliard.
12/16/98 - Bears place Moreno on IR
Chicago has placed rookie quarterback Moses Moreno on injured
reserve with a sprained ankle. Moreno suffered the injury while making his
only start of the season, November 29th vs. Tampa Bay...The Bears filled
Moreno's roster spot by signing offensive tackle Adam Hernandez, who
was waived Monday by Baltimore.

fifteen carries.
Glyn Milburn: Milburn's 94-yard kick-off return for a touchdown

Bobby Engram: The Bears' leading receiver was held to seventeen
yards on three catches.
Notes: Quarterback Steve Strenstrom completed 16 of 28 passes, but only threw for 126 yards, without a touchdown or interception.

just 21 yards on twelve rushes.
Notes: Quarterback Steve Stenstrom played a solid game, completing 25 of 42 passes for 302 yards with one interception, the touchdown to Engram and a four yard touchdown run. Most of the yardage came in the second-half, however, when the game was well out of reach

passing], but threw a touchdown and looked respectable in his first career
start.
Barry Minter: The linebacker led the defense with eight tackles.

help his rookie quarterback.
Notes: Punter Mike Horan successfully pulled off a fake-punt, tossing an eighteen yard touchdown to Ryan Wetnight.

Marty Carter: The strong safety led the defense with twelve
tackles.
Curtis Conway: CC made just three catches, but picked up 64 yards
for a strong 21 yard average.

109 yards and two interceptions.
Notes: Defensive end Shawn Lee recorded a sack, but more importantly, returned a fumble fifteen yards for a touchdown.

needs strong games from Bennett. Today he gained 73 yards on eighteen rushes,
and caught two passes for fourteen yards.

Curtis Conway: The wide receiver made just two catches for 25
yards.
Injuries: Quarterback Steve Stenstrom left the game with shoulder injury and was replaced by Moses Moreno. Stenstrom did return.
Notes: Wide receiver Bobby Engram made four catches for 74 yards.

Notes: With Erik Kramer sidelined by a rotator cuff strain, quarterback Steve Stenstrom made his first career start and completed 15 of 25 passes for 154 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Jeff Jaeger: The kicker made two fourth quarter field-goals,

Alonzo Mayes: The rookie tight end made big catches for 22 and 19
yards on the Bears' game winning drive, and finished with four receptions for
57 yards.

Curtis Enis and Edgar Bennett: Neither running back could
get anything going, as Enis gained 30 yards on twelve carries, while Bennett
picked up 28 yards on twelve rushes.
Injuries: Left guard Todd Perry bruised his left shin early on, but returned later in the game.
Notes: Linebacker Andre Collins picked off a Jason Garett pass on the Cowboys' last possession to seal the win.

the Cardinal defense for a 79-yard touchdown reception and 142 yards receiving
overall.

interceptions and overall erratic play. To his defense, the pass protection
was horrible.
Curtis Enis: The rookie's 11 carries and 26 yards made for the
Bears' to establish an offense today.

Chris Penn: Chicago got another solid receiving performance from
Penn, who caught four passes for 73 yards, including a 23 yard touchdown.

43 yards on fourteen carries.
Injuries: Wide receiver Curtis Conway left in the second with a groin injury, while cornerback Tom Carter broke his collarbone, and could be out eight to ten weeks.
