To mark their annual reunion and Surigao Fiesta, the Surigao Marajaw Karajaw Group founded by Dicdic del Castillo in 1994 celebrated their 10th anniversary last September 25 at the Mt. Eden Memorial Hall. The Bishop of Surigao, Monsignor Antonieto Cabajog himself graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Among the guests were Officers of CAPO such as Sam Dignadice, Rene Pascual, and Ariel Abrogena and the President of the Filipino Federation , Dr. Tony Noblejas , Father Ruben Elago, Jun and Ruby Pascual , Manila businessman Mr. Tan, and Elvira Arcena Egay, a national awardee of the 10 Outstanding Principals of the Philippines and former Mayor of Gigaquit,
Surigao.
The Bishop appealed to the public to support our seminaries , updating Surigaonons with developments and news of our Surigao schools and projects, while peppering his speech with humorous anecdotes about bishops and priests.
Entertaining the huge crowd were Kate and Kim Jenkins, and Nicole Anderson who danced a jazz number and the Pinoy pop spaghetti dance. Usherettes Vanessa Goodson and Crisca Tipace, along with songstress Lucy Goodson led the September Birthday Celebrants song. Roger Laburada and chairwoman of the festivities, Diselyn Bowker, gamely danced the curacha to everyone's delight while Captain Mike Halloran gave a heart rending rendition of "Matud Nila". The Surigaonons sang the uplifting Marcha Surigao, and at the end, the Surigao dancing queens rocked the place with their Broadway version of "Mamma Mia", which was choreographed by Brother Sam and Bebot Tipace. Line dancing and the disco capped the night. Programme emcees were Bien Millares of Sky City and Fe
Egay.
Congratulations and more power to you.
