CAPO elects new officers

Diario Filipino No. 28/Dec 2004

The member representatives from the member organisations of the Council of Auckland Philippine Organisations (CAPO) gathered last 13 November at the Epsom Community Centre in Gillies Ave, Epsom for the CAPO AGM and election of officers.

Two authorised management representatives from each member organisation (MO) are required to attend the meeting. Three Comelec members were present to oversee the elections however, the nominations were narrowed down as it eventually led to a majority nomination instead of a majority vote.

As a result, from the nominations alone, the officers were taken immediately into post namely; Sam Dignadice - President, Victor Alegado - Vice President, Gene Smallwood - Secretary and Cora Noblejas - Treasurer.

It has been a very peaceful procedure and everyone was happy about the turnout of this CAPO meeting. The meetings' agenda included that of the plans for the Labour weekend preparations CAPO is to undertake to be held at Canterbury in 2005. Congratulations to the new set of officers and more power in all your endeavour.
