Alex David snares 3rd Forex Cup plum

Alex David proved too strong and captured the �Championship Trophy� of the most coveted PGC Tour, the 3rd FOREX CUP GOLF TOURNAMENT. It was held in Huapai Golf course last 17 October, 2004. Alex defied the pressure from the 2-time Forex Cup champion, Rene Pascual and also proved that he is really in form by winning the 2 previous PGC Tours. He made a record PGC history as the first PGC player to win 3-consecutive tournament in a row.
Alex scored 40 stableford points to earn the top spot. There was a tie for the 2nd place with both players scoring 37 stableford points. The winner was determined by a count back on the 18th hole and the result put Jerome Santos on the 2nd place and Victor Cagayat on the 3rd place.
Apart from the 3 top spots, other awards were given during the event. The �Closest to the Pin Award� at the par 3 Hole 18 goes to Noel Cosio. The �Longest Drive Award� was captured by the 3rd placer himself, Victor Cagayat. Although other PGC top contenders didn�t make in this years' FOREX CUP Tour, they had really great fun. You can hear laughter, a lot of swearing and showboating from the players all around the course. Everyone enjoyed the passion of the sport and the competition.
The event culminated with the awarding of trophies to the winners. Rudy Santos, the Club president and the toastmaster graced the awards night. Also present who gave the awards were Gil Domingo, Forex-Umac Cargo NZ general manager and Guy Aliping, the operation�s manager. Foods and drinks were served and everyone had fun. Any update on the PGC? The PGC will conduct Golf Clinics in which date and venue will be announced later. PGC Auckland will also be hosting the upcoming Ryder�s Cup Tournament on February 26-27, 2005 pitting the top 12 Auckland players against the top 12 players of Wellington. PGC welcomes and encourages Pinoy golfers to join the club.
