| Finally the neurosurgeon suggested another surgery. He wanted to lift the lid off and do an exploratory to find and fix it. 95% of those having this surgery ended up as a vegetable but maybe she would be in the lucky 5%. She said NO. Later he came up with the idea of a different surgery. There wasn't a lot of danger in this surgery except it could destroy her emotions..When she asked him if that included all emotions love and caring and all that He said yes she would feel no emotions. She said no. She drew the line no more surgery He then offered to recommend a good psychiatrist to help her live with what was to come. So she came home and put herself in the hands of her family doctor. Life was full of pain and sickness She was out of her head a large portion of the time. She spent more time in the hospital than out. There were many many times when all hope was gone, there was nothing to do but wait. Then suddenly she would snap out of it. She says she now knows that was to show everyone that God was in control. She became a medical wonder. She broke all records. There was no medical reason for her to still be living. The damage to her brain was spreading. the last test showed deterioration had set in and over 75% of her brain was damaged. Everyone but her gave up. She could see a tiny pinpoint of light at the end of the road..Life was full of pain and sickness .She knew she could die at any time and almost did many times. At the first of the year in 1977 God had put in her head the words "Your season has come" She could not decide what it meant She bagan searching the scriptures ,reading the old testemant at random. In every case it would be about something that ran a season for 7 years. Then it slowly dawned on her it had been 7 years since last surgery. At first she was puzzled . What did this mean. One day duing the last of March, she was walking up the hall when God spoke to her in a sweet, still voice and said "My child I am going to heal you" She was beside herself with joy and ran around telling everyone No one seemed to get the kick out of it that she did Everyone thought it was wishful thing on her part. Then during the first week of April , God spoke to her again. This time he told her He would heal her this month. She flew to JB and told him . He looked her square in the eye and said "Look Dollbaby don't put a time limit on it " She assured him she hadn't God told her and God didn't lie During the second surgery her sense of smell had been destroyed She was unable to smell anything. On April 15,1977 she was doing a little light mopping when she thought she smelled the Mr Clean she had put in her mop water. She thought to herself she remembered how it smelled but without thinking put her head down and smelled .She was really smelling it. All she could think of was her honeysuckle bush was in bloom and ran outside and buried her face in the sweet smelling bush. She smelled until her heart was full and then came in and wrote down in her address book ,in the place for anniversaries "God gave me my sense of smell back April 15,1977 at 3:30 pm Thank you God I know you are going to heal me, too. You are so good I love you God," She had been unable to wiggle her toes since her back surgery, On April 17, she was taking a bath when she got a cramp in one of her big toes. As she was rubbing it out the big toe on the other foot got a cramp. Then her mind told her to push down without using her hands. She thought silly you haven't been able to wiggle your toes for years. As she was thinking this both cramps left and she was wiggling her toes. She wrote in her book "The feeling came back to my toes" I can wiggle them April 17,1977" Then she drew a big ? with the word WHEN? next to it She remembers thinking "The next time I write in this book, I will write "The Lord had healed me!" When? Soon she knew. The next morning she didn't feel very well. She had a lot of pressure and nausea and her headache was worse. She remembers thinking Look out old girl you've been getting to excited and she knew what that could do. But then she thought "But Lord I can't help it I'm so happy and excited." She went to bed early that night. |
