THE CAR WORKER

I�m a wheelnut screwer-onner, And that�s all I do all day. I�m a wheelnut screwer-onner - That�s how I earn my pay.

I�m a wheelnut screwer-onner. I stand there with my wrench And I screw on all the wheelnuts While a car goes past my bench.

I�m a wheelnut screwer-onner And I�ve done it forty year. I�m a wheelnut screwer-onner, But I don�t like being here.

For I never had the chances, I never had the breaks. Even though my teachers Said I had the brains it takes.

I could have been a doctor, Or a pilot. Here�s a thought - I could have gone to NASA And become an astronaut!

But I never got the chances, Even though I�d what it takes. So I went down to the car plant And enrolled, just like my mates.
