We got to Las Vegas a few days early so we could see the sights. We went with Frank and Diane Kelso. They are hosting the 98th reunion in Phoenix this year. We haven't been to Las Vegas for several years. The last time we were here they were still building this one third scale model of the Eiffel Tower.
One of the neatest sights on the strip is the volcano at the Mirage. It erupts every 15 minutes. This is only one of many free shows that are put on by various hotels and casinos. We caught the Mirage on our way to see the ships battle in front of Treasuer Island.
While we were in the area we did a little sightseeing at Hoover Dam. Lake Meade is over 80 feet below it's normal level. The drough here in the southwest is really bad.
