Lived in Madison, Lafayette, and (Alachua) Gilchrist Co., F L Homesteaded 160 acres of land adjoining 160 acres of hi s father's before the 1880 census was taken, not far from R ock Bluff in Gilchrist Co., FL.
Owned a store next to Rock Bluff landing.

Minor Thomas Waters and mother, Nancy Elizabeth (widow) liv ing with John Henry and family.

John Henry's first wife, Betty Slaughter and child are buri ed very near him in the Townsend Cemetery.

His second wife, Augustine F. Townsend Waters is buried nex t to him.

John and Augustine lived in Madison, Lafayette, and Alachua /Gilchrist counties. They homesteaded 160 acres of land th at adjoined his father's 160 acres of land. The property w as located near Rock Bluff. John owned a store next to Roc k Bluff Landing.

John is buried in the Townsend Cemetery.
