Annapolis Maryland Monday 8 December 2003 by Hal Fan Elsie
Hal at the Rams Head Tavern in
Annapolis, MD What a wonderful show! - To describe this show I have to say that it felt like I was sitting in someones living room. It helped that I only sat about five feet away from Hal. It was a very intimate atmosphere. Hal told stories, jokes and kept smiling that smile of his. Hal is looking better than ever. Wearing dungarees, dungaree shirt and a blue/white bandanna around his neck, he sat very comfortably in his chair and just kept on playing and talked quite a bit to the audience. He told jokes yep the talking dog one again and a new one about Home Depot. Gina is doing well and is due this summer. If it is a boy he had a few choices of names but thought of naming him Santa cause everyone loves Santa! He told some stories about his father and camping, his brother and a guitar (keep your eyes on ebay!) and of his daughter Ruby who seems to like the spotlight. He is currently working with Allen Reynolds and recording a new CD. He played a song in which he wrote with Gina. The title (I believe) is called - You Remind Me which was inspired by a line You remind me of things I never knew I wanted. The song was really beautiful. The show began around 8:10 and ended at 10:20 - Hal played the following songs:
Before Hal sang his last song he informed the audience that he would come down and (as Hal put it) - mangle. And so he did lines formed to shake his hand, give hugs, get autographs, take pictures and to just to say hey. Hal, if you should happen to read this Thanks for the song - Too Many Memories! I sure will never forget. Elsie
