Dad was in the Army the REME to be precise. I was born while he was posted in West Germany, Duisburg.
Although some would say that constantly moving around gave me an excellent social education, it certainly didn't do me much good academically. In any case I feel most privaleged to have had the opportunity to see such places as Singapore 1957-1960, Cape Town, Aden 1964-1966, and found it very difficult to settle down to civilian life when we came back to England in 1966, then aged 16.
I have registered on Friends Re-united, in the unlikely event that long lost Friends may be re-found. I still find it hard believing that that other life was really mine it seems so long ago now.
Unfortunately Mum died at the young age of 54 after years of suffering and ill health and Dad died nearly three years ago on his Birthday aged 77. I miss them both terribly.
