AFL Collingwood Pies vs Freemantle Dockers Oval Stadium, London, October 11
Saturday saw us nursing our hangovers on the tube on the way to Oval Cricket Stadium to see the Grand Final runner-ups (carn the Lions!!!) attempt to redeem themselves in London against the Dockers. 12 of us sat front row, first stand, VBs in hand to enjoy the entertainment. Tim tams, pies, twisties and bbq shapes being the lunch menu for the day...
The Aussie pack (and a Dane and a couple of Saffas thrown in)
There you go Dad, brought me up right - VB!
The game was great, looked close at the start but the Dockers took off, avoiding the few streakers throughout the game to bags a well deserved win. The end of the game got lost with heaps of people running onto the field - funny but kind of annoying too. The security were having a field day. We did get a brilliant wave up and running though - at least 5 rounds of the stadium!
Freos celebrating and someone getting arrested at the end of the match
Security had no chance as they reached the top of the goal posts
Shelly and I on the pitch...
Me and Shell in front of the 1890 Aussie cricket team in the members stand!
After getting the feel for one of the most famous cricket grounds, we headed off to the pub to celebrate. The day started at 12 and finished at 12 so you can imagine what we looked like towards the end...
