| Journal of Jade's US Citizenship Process | ||||||||||||
| Because Jade was adopted through the Australian adoption system her process to become a US citizen (which she is entitled to by having a US citizen mother) has not been a straightforward process. Before she was adopted I determined that the easiest way for her to become a US citizen was to comply with the US Citizenship Act section 322. Under these requirements Jade needed to reside with us for a period of two years, file an application for a Certificate of Citizenship (Form N-600K) and then travel to Honolulu BCIS office in order to attend an interview and take an oath of allegiance. | ||||||||||||
