Christmas Letter 2005
Well…. Here it is… This may be the very last Christmas Letter I write. Maybe later on when I have more time, I’ll continue where we leave off. It’s been a wonderful year. One of the best! Hope you enjoy the letter. Let me know what you think of it. I’ve highlighted the names so you can easily find those who interest you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We started the year by adding another member to our little family. Maggie was given to us in January. She was an 18 month old Shiatsu Toy Poodle cross. She is even litter trained! She is such a cutie and very affectionate. It’s great to have her. Since she has hair instead of fur, people allergic to animals will not be allergic to her.
Tristen (Paul’s daughter) had started Hebrew High. Yes, you heard it, she is Jewish (from her mother’s faith). We wanted to help her continue in her Jewish faith by sending her there. She’s really enjoying it there.
Closer to the Easter holidays, Guy and his friend Helene had come from Montreal to visit us. We had gone to our favourite restaurant called the Southern Belle. Too bad it’s now closed. Of course, Guy had also brought his dog (Magik) with him too.
Also in the winter months, Sylvain Martel came by to visit us here in London. We haven’t seen him in years. It’s always nice to see family. And this certainly was a surprise.
I finished my course on Women’s Studies (just an intro course) and PASSED!!! Woo hoo! Now, I’m taking Anthropology and loving this course.
In May, Michel’s minion army expanded. Martine gave birth to Victor and he is the cutest little thing. His older brother Elric now has a playmate. Jenny (Paul’s niece) and Waleed also had a baby named Sari. We saw his pictures and he too is a little cutie! This happy little family lives in Jerusalem.
Paul’s nephew, Mike Jr., got his pilot wings and is now stationed in Dartmouth, N.S. Cecile (Paul’s sister) and Mike Sr. are very proud. Although they live in Moscow, Russia, they had celebrated their wedding anniversary in Berlin. Their whole family will be coming this Christmas. We’re looking forward to their visit!
Well… we did it…. Paul and I got married. It was a small June wedding held at our house with our families. It’s so wonderful to find someone special to spend the rest of your life with. His cousin Rene is a minister and was able to perform ours as her first ceremony. The next day, we left for our honeymoon heading for Arizona. It was a fantastic vacation. We both enjoyed it. Details and pictures of this trip is posted on my website.
Over the summer, we created the Brimbleberry Fairy meetings. Members include: Carol, Chantal, Tara, Tristen and myself being the leader. We all get to wear our fairy wings and flower head bands, wave around our wands, tell stories to the fairy queen, and do good deeds. These are usually held on the weekend of a full moon. Paul had gotten involved as the Evil Wizard. He was so good at it that we want him to do it again. The fairies are training to fly (we have them do flying exercises that you would laugh to see). They are now sleeping for the winter and will resume in the spring.
Aline and Marcel (my folks) held the annual Belleville family reunion right here in London. It was nice to see some relatives that I haven’t seen in years. Yvonne and Yvon were there, as well as, Gilbert, Collette, and Clement.
Paul’s son, Stevie, had competed in the Iron Man Competition. He must be real strong. He won a T-shirt. Way Cool, Stevie! We went to visit him in Petawawa for the weekend. Paul’s other son, Gord, now works as THE security guard for his friend Aaron Wapole (3rd place in Canadian Idol).
Other side notes to mention…. Paul’s Jeep was broken into. They stole his First Aid kit. It was a big one. Carol’s car was also broken into and they stole her ‘free’ sunglasses. DARN! The perpetrators are still at large, so, lock your doors! Tristen now goes to Catholic Central High school and has to wear a uniform. Tristen also has a new boyfriend, Shaun. We are still waiting to meet him for the first time. Hmmmm…. She also played a wonderful concert with her school band. They were amazing! Brenda and Gerald are now a little family. Little Matthew was born on Nov. 8th. We believe that Mark and Sue indirectly started the labour process since Sue drew silly pictures on Brenda’s belly. When they left, labour began. Carol is now taking skating lessons so she can skate with her girls. Tara is now in Girl Guides and Chantal is in Brownies. Tristen cleaned her room once this year…. But we still can’t find all the spoons…. Hehehe!
Hope you enjoyed the recap of the year! I am so happy to have my family and friends to share these special times. And many more to come....
HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY & WE WISH YOU ALL THE BEST!
Diane, Paul, Tristen & Maggie (And we all lived happily ever after).
I have a website that displays pictures of all these tales and more.
