| HOPE HAIRDRESSING in the Maygate, Dunfermline, held a charity day on Sunday in aid of The Diane WIShart Appeal Fund and raised an impressive 3500. Diane was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer after previously battling the illness and going into remission two years ago. The fund aims to raise 60,000 which would enable Diane to start treatment in Germany on the drug Avastin. Clinical trials have shown the drug shrinks the cancer and greatly improves the progression free time of the illness. The drug is unavailable on the NHS and Diane and her family have started their own fund-raising efforts to meet the 60,000 bill for the treatment. Their fund raising efforts to date have raised more than 40,000. Brian Jobson, owner of the salon and brother of former Skids front man and film producer Richard Jobson, said, "Diane is a friend and a client of the salon and we wanted to help as much as we could. The support and generosity of our clients and all the people who have donated to our salon charity day has been overwhelming, and I can't thank everyone enough." ,The Hope Hairdressing Charity day donated 100%of all money raised from every hair appointment tithe appeal fund. A prize draw also raised money with the first prize being year's free haircuts with salon director Brian Jobson. |
