I am working with Haitian nationals to produce Bible Story Songs in Haitian Creole. These songs use indigenous Haitian musical styles to tell Bible stories in the heart language of the Haitian people.
We will have about 70 songs which will coincide with the stories in the Evangelism Track that our team, the Rural 8 Team, is using to encourage a church planting movement in Haiti.
The project is in progress! As of June 2003 we had recorded 37 of the 70 songs. In August 2003 we held our 5th music seminar in Cite Lumiere near Les Cayes, Haiti in which about 16 more songs were written. We are continuing to write, arrange, make accompaniment tracks, and record these songs.
When the project is finished, these songs will be distributed on audiocassette and CD to radio stations and drivers of public transportation so that the people of Haiti will be able to hear God's word in a format they understand and appreciate----their music in their language! These CDs and cassettes will also be available to churches, Christian organizations, and individuals who wish to use them in evangelism and discipleship. We also will provide them to persons whom we train to use Chronological Bible Storying with Story Songs to plant churches. Our team is dedicated to equipping national Christians to reach their people for Christ.
